I have two labradoodles, a black 5 year old named Holly and a chocolate 4 month old puppy named Grace, who is chocolate but has a white stripe on her chest and one white foot. Let me tell you now, this is one of the best breeds ever. They are amazing companions, who have the family friendly nature of a lab mixed with the intelligence of a poodle, plus the ability to stand on two legs! They really are amazing I suggested getting one of you are considering it, they come in differing coats some wire like other softer mine both have the softer coats. Easy to train, the puppy is already house trained no crate or any of that nonsense and she’s been here for only 3 months! While this might be a lot for some, I also suggest getting two dogs, maybe one now and another later that what I did, we got Grace 5 years after Holly, this breed is very social and they get along perfectly, the adult actually taught the puppy a few things!

I have a black labradoodle called Ceilidh (Scots Gaelic spelling) pronounced Kaylee. We have had her since she was 11 months got her from a breeder. She will be 13 years old in six weeks. She has never destroyed a toy, chewed on anything but a bone. My first dog ever. We have just gone through cancer surgery with her. A low grade sarcoma on her thigh, never slowed her down. He's loved by many! He's not very active. Never has been. He's an extra large size weighing in around 100 lbs!!! Yes, he's been on a diet, yet he still only gets down to 94 lbs. He's VERY tall.

I have a chocolate Labradoodle, and he's the quietest dog I've ever owned. He is quite shy though too. He's certainly a looker and everyone wants to come up to him, but as I noted he is very shy. Super loving though to me and family. Very much a family dog! Perfect breed I think. No shedding, so not constant vacuuming. If he sheds at all, Ive never noticed.

I also have a bulldog that hears voices (no joke) and she’s like his little therapy dog for him 😂. She’s so sweet and it’s hard to get mad at her because she will give u big puppy eyes and a shameful face because she knows she did something wrong. The Australian Labradoodle started out as a simple cross between the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle or Miniature Poodle. The American Labradoodle is this exact cross in North America. Australians, on the other hand, have taken the Labradoodle a few steps further. In 2004, it was announced that the Australian Labradoodle was not just a Labrador x Poodle cross but was a breed in its own right, developed over many years with particular goals in mind. To accomplish these goals, further development was done with parent breed infusions added to the already blooming Labrador x Poodle cross lines. The founders of the breed sought out the best way in which to compliment the Australian Labradoodle breed, and to develop the qualities that they found and loved in these dogs. In 1997, the very first Australian Labradoodle Breed ‘Standard’ was written which reflected these goals. The Australian Labradoodle currently consists of 6 different breeds in its origin. Man mine is a puppy. She's 6 months right now, and growing very fast. She's jacking up my backyard digging lol. But she's full of energy. The only problem I have with her is that she always bites. Manly my kids. Its sometimes a playful bite, manly on the fingers. She's my 10 year old daughters puppy, and she always getting bit by her, as well as my 6 year old son. I personally think its because they're the two smallest people in the house, and easier to take down. She doesn't try any of that with me, or my wife. Well sometimes she does get my wife, but not much. When she does try to get me, I personally know that she wants to play. I play rough with her when I do, just because of all the energy she has. I just can't wait until she's a bit older. We've discovered that we're not a puppy family type lol, but we love her like another kid of ours.

This is a year old but I am where you were right now! This might as well be me writing this lol. We got ours for our 12-year old son but our doodle seems to "pick" on our 4-year son lol! Probably bc he's picking on someone his own size haha. How is your doodle now that she's a little older? Has she relaxed a bit? We've had to fill in a couple holes in our yard as well but he likes being outside so I won't complain. He gets a kick out of me threatening to him back. He always calls my bluff. We love him though. Be careful of bad breeders, the popularity of a new breed will bring out the bad backyard breeders that don't care about their health. A multigen doodle will never have straight coats but either fleece or slightly curly/wool.....that said, good breeders will breed for awesome temperaments and will be excellent guide/support dogs. These dogs are one of the few that will get along with any other animal you happen to have, they are gentle and kind. A great family dog., mine is 11 now and she is a dream dog that has a Maine Coon cat as his playmate.

If you get one of these dogs be prepared to spend a lot of money. Their hair never stops growing and so they have to be cut and groomed several times a year. Also, some breeders will tell you they do not shed. They don't shed in the sense that you find their hairs everywhere, but what you will find is a tumbleweed like collection of very fine hairs that blow around with the slightest breeze, such as by walking past it, so you find them under and behind furniture constantly. Also, they are subject to food sensitivities, and will get ear infections from certain foods, which means changing foods to find which one does not affect them in that way. i found the foods containing fish are the easiest for my dog. Read up on them before deciding to buy because the outlay of funds does not end there. Otherwise, it is a fine companion.

No comment that most Labradoodles are 3/4 or more poodle? What I have seen when it comes to people with Labradoodles are people who want a poodle without the poodle cut. When it comes to poodles, you do NOT need to do the cut you see on most poodles. Those cuts are done by people who want to want that pool. People with Standard poodles who do NOT do those cuts are often mistaken for Labradoodles, I have had to correct a lot of people when I am walking my Standard Poodle. Standard Poodles are a real breed, Poodles give birth to poodles. Labradoodles are a product of a poodle and a Lab or other dog. Thus a 'Hybrid" not a breed. There are not even a "Type" of dog. "Type" is an old term for dogs breed for certain things, but no blood lines were kept. Most dogs and horses started out as "Types" that later became Breeds as people started to keep blood lines. I b
