You can find them in Florida. They likes swamps, saltwater marshes, sometimes even flooded former orange groves. Much more common than American flamingo in Florida.

Awesome bird! I really like how it evolved a spoon bill to facilitate crustacean fishing! I hope they can enjoy a clean environment, regardless of what politics and the economy says about it.

I observed a wild Roseate Spoonbill at Eagle Lake Park, Largo, Florida this April, hanging out with a Wood Stork, Moorhen, juvenile and adult White Ibis, and a half-dozen or so Snowy Egrets. All the taller waders were nervous, moving a short distance away when people came to watch them from the bridge. The Spoonbill was quiet, but the Wood Stork and Egrets, clacked their bills repeatedly, scolding. Two other Roseate Spoonbills were also visible at the far side of the reedy marsh. It was the highlight of my vacation!

My favorite bird, they were the first "exotic" bird i ever had a interaction with at the Jacksonville zoo in Florida inside their aviary. Their spoon like bill and pink feathers always fascinated me. Most of my favorite animals have special or unique adaptations for their environments like the giant ant eater or kelpy sea dragon.

Dear Animalogic team, I am a huge fan of your KZbin channel and have been thoroughly enjoying all the fascinating animal videos you produce. Your attention to detail, incredible visuals, and captivating storytelling make your content stand out from the rest. I was wondering if you could create a video on the Albatross, one of the most interesting seabirds out there. With their giant wingspans, unique flying techniques, and incredible adaptations for life at sea, albatrosses are truly remarkable creatures. I believe your channel has the ability to showcase the beauty and complexity of these birds, and educate people about the importance of protecting them and their habitats. Thank you for considering my suggestion, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next! Best regards, Amey Pimpalkar

I live in Central Florida so the only area where you're likely to see them is Merritt Island and are rather rare. That is except this year. For some reason (climate change?) I've seen more this year than I have in the last 15 years combined. That includes the furthest north (Sanford) I've ever seen one.
