I love how AAL's compositions are pretty much just modern jazz voiced for a jazz fusion/metal band. So good!
@abuventertainment28566 жыл бұрын
Yeah with the intriguing rhythmic effect of the thumping and djenty shit. Javier and Tosin are next level composers, they hear sounds no one else could have conceptualized. Musicianship is top tier they are hella underrated and because of the labeling of subgenres and stuff. People who close their minds to music that gets a certain label are missing out, because once you give a good listen, and give it your undivided attention, you can appreciate it's unique beauty. These 2 guitar players and Matt the drummer are vessels of divine expression.

Sax too! Tosin takes a lot of influence in his songwriting and soloing style from Allan Holdsworth, who often said that his instrument of choice would have been saxophone, and that he spent his career trying to make the guitar sound like that and not like itself.

I’ve listened to this so many times. So brilliant. I love AAL but with the distortion/effects they use some of the complexity and musicality of the chords get a tiny bit lost. However, with piano and trumpet as the main instruments, you really see the beauty in all the chord changes very clearly. Amazing. Do another!

I appreciate that you chose to stay with the original middle solo. It's my favorite version. I know it's one of the few improvisational solos that Tosin ever does. So talented man. the trumpet parts dont come through at times, but i dont expect you to be able to play that many notes in succession at that speed haha. Awesome cover. very unique. Subbed.
@davidburnett36147 жыл бұрын
i feel like the trumpet could've done with more long notes and glissing instead of there being so much articulation in some of the note heavy sections. i feel like the part he's playing is trying too hard to recreate the guitar melody on trumpet, rather than playing the part as if it were a trumpet part, if that makes any sense at all.
@maker0007 жыл бұрын
I agree about the trumpet parts but for some reason the trumpet is still what i like most about this...
@Phunkophil4 жыл бұрын
Hm interesting, I actually found the trumpet part the most impressive. Some insanely clean tonguing for the speed he's playing it at. The only thing that's doesn't quite translate to the original for me is the timbre of the trumpet.
