This song has a cute tune, but the lyrics tell the story of twins living helplessly in a post-apocalyptic world. PS: I wrote the English lyrics in this comment section, so you can find them if you want. 可愛らしい曲調ですが、歌詞の内容は終末を迎えた世界で何もできないまま生きるしかない双子の物語となっております。

Isn't that like the running theme/gag/catch with all these super energetic songs by Japanese niconico composers for years now? I tend to be super apprehensive to know the translations of these songs after my own take on translating Education recently. The No Sunrise or Sunset song especially is super disturbing

@@korohacker Sorry, I had to resend my comment because of a problem with the app. I think it is because of the strong influence of a certain person who used to be active on Nico Nico. His works are characterized by bright tunes and gloomy lyrics. His masterpieces are “the Sardine Growed from the Soil”, “The Bluefin Tuna Comes Flying”, “Lamprey Hole” and “.”. Many people were fascinated by his works and made various consideration about them. However, he did not like to have his work examined, and he did not want to be talked about himself. He was so mentally overwhelmed that he finally retired. However, his works still affects other creators today.

@@komp31to-confett1 It's okay, KZbin app can be weird sometimes. I never knew about the composer you mentioned much other than a name, but I have certainly heard of his works while exploring these kinds of videos a few months ago. I am fascinated by them as well, because of the juxtaposition of very upbeat tunes with either mysterious or seemingly depressing and dark lyrics. I also never knew that him being retired and being mentally overwhelmed by all the scrutiny his songs get subjected to, and I'm sorry all that happened to him. I have seen a few Japanese creators like artists and composers running away from the internet because of pressure regarding to their works, even lost a good friend who never went online anymore sadly. I hope he is doing well now, and that being away from the globalization effect and internet pressure is helping him recover. Also, thank you かざぐるま, for telling us about this. I would have never known about the composer's current situation if it wasn't for you, so thank you again! In the end, I'll paraphrase what I wrote in the comments of a different song on the discussion of the song's meaning, and I'll just enjoy the song for what it is on the surface level and not think too deeply about any possible hidden meaning behind the lyrics. Maybe they're just pretty words linked together by a theme as an accompaniment to the tune, and nothing more. This song does have a pretty tune, and Geolyte's version is super adorable as well!

plenty of japanese pop and vocaloid in general that doesn't seem to take inspiration from that artist also is upbeat and talks about heavier topics
English lyrics クーネル・エンゲイザー Kūneru Engazer ----------------------- The world froze. Under that unprecedented cold The road and sky as well In blue, in white Froze. In excessive silence, Unconsciously, the person that inhaled their breath Into their lungs, the cold night Broke and collapsed. The two looked at the outside scenery and became scared White and shallow, they breathe. Hipo, Hipo, Sē, Ze Making corn soup. From the window’s seams, the cold seeps in Memories and dreams And yet, they freeze before very long. In the night that turns around, The song that the two are humming Disappeared when caught. Today as well The two are eating mandarins under the kotatsu Knowing that the next season Isn’t coming, they cry. By the spread of the cold, They welcome the collapse of their cellular cult It is a phenomenon of falling stars Kūneru Engazer Eating food is sad but also delicious Then falling into slumber, repeat the same things Whilst looking at the outside, After all, if the world hadn’t slept, You could’ve confessed you love. Today as well The two are eating mandarins under the kotatsu Feeling nostalgic all the time Over the memories of the seasons that had passed Before an absolute, biological ending We obstinately tie our hands together Kūneru Engazer Suddenly becoming sad over such circumstances I opened the second floor’s window, but it’s over I earnestly inhale the cold air My right hand and lungs and heart, all frozen. In the night, the miniature garden, And even the bits of the song Are frozen still 3 meters [Pink]: Today as well [Blue]: Hey, I’m cold [Pink]: The two are eating mandarins under the kotatsu [Blue]: But I can’t tell that to you [Pink]: We’re seeing a dream [Blue]: My right hand is [Pink]: About what we should do next season [Blue]: Frozen blue and starting to crack [Pink]: And with that, we eat [Blue]: A cold heart [Pink]: Sleeping and looking at the outside through the window with you [Blue]: Gives a cold pulse [Pink]: I rub my frost-bitten hands [Blue]: I rub my frost-bitten hands [Pink]: Kūneru Engazer [Blue]: Kūneru Engazer (Meaningless words) [Blue]: “I’m sorry, I...” [Pink]: “No, I’m sure.” [Pink]: “Both of us, together.” “We should just sleep.” (Meaningless words) Kūneru Engazer “The power goes out...” ----------------------- I used the English lyrics in this video as a reference. Some of the lyrics have been revised to be more accurate in meaning. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYe7nmdrirKGb5Y *Turn on subtitles! *The song starts at 0:08. Some parts of the lyrics don't make sense, but fans have added lyrics to these. In Japanese, these sounds somewhat like the following. 3:22-3:28 Brutally, I eventually faded into unconsciousness and started to freeze 3:35-3:39 The headache slows my breathing 3:39-3:41 Making a gesture of trembling elbows all the time Original kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXixgH-ChMt5ra8
