I can't believe I'm nearing the end of my senior year of high school already. Only a year ago, I hated school, mostly because I was afraid to like it. I'm the second youngest in my family, and every one of my older brothers and sisters hated school, so I guess I was even afraid to try and like it. But one day I heard this Kenny Chesney song: "Boys of fall," "I got your number, I got your back when your back's against the wall." I was hit with this emotion I'd never felt before, a longing to be part of something bigger than myself, to care about friends like family. It dawned on me that, it was ok to like school. I'll never forget that day riding home on the bus, my entire life changed. Instead of shying away from meeting new people, I tried new things, I tried to be that one guy that people know they can turn to, that they an trust, and I made a lot of new friends for the next few months, until COVID hit. A few of those new friends were seniors last year, and I know I may never see some of them again, many going off to collage and other city's, other states. It was starting to get to me, with school shut down just a couple months after I'd really learned to enjoy it, then you released this video, and it brought back to that feeling that I'd started to let go of. That moment at 1:45, when Lightning McQueen stops at the finish line, and the music builds up, it just sent chill down my spine, and that feeling hit me again, and it re-inspired me. And I find I keep coming back more and more to this video as time flies by in my last year of High School. (My school has a hybrid schedule, where half the students are at school, and the other half has online school. They're talking about having all the students back in school around Easter, I really hope that happens so I can see all my friends again before graduation.) You inspire me to make the most of the time I have left, because I know, some of my friends I'll never see them again, and I want them to know that no matter where life takes us, I will always be there if they need me. I want them to know that they can count on me. I want them to know that they have been real friends to me, and I'm going to miss them. But I'll see them again someday I know, because friends never really say goodbye. (This was supposed to be a short comment, but I have so many emotions right now. THANK YOU so much for this amazing video. It changed my life.)
