He doesn't know where that feeling comes from, but he doesn't really mind. It just feels too right to him to contradict, even if it was initially meant as a goof. Which is weird, to say the least, when he thinks about it. But that's some very complex thinking, and as far as Magnus is concerned, thinking is for other people. He rushes on to the next thing, not realizing how close he came to brushing his own history.

I find the contrast of understanding interesting. When you first hear this all you feel is mystery. Why is the Voidfish singing? What could it mean? What is the significance of its interaction with Magnus? Expecting something magical as the answer. Then when you know what's happening it's pretty mundane. Fisher is telling its old friend to save its child and yells when it's clear no one is understanding. It would be kind of funny if it weren't so sad.
