Animation Cancels: Tutorial for Iyo's Eye Cancel on version 2.18 | Ghost of Tsushima: Legends

I've talked about this video for such a long time, and now I've finally finished and uploaded it. I waited to be at least almost fully recovered from covid to get this video done. What sucked was that the moment I wanted to start working on this tutorial, I caught covid and it was difficult to speak and keep my head up to play, let alone make a whole video like this. Hopefully everything I talk about in the tutorial makes sense. What's convenient as I'm uploading this video, is that I know the current nightmare week has Eyes of Iyo on both Nightmare Survival on Shores, and in Trials of Iyo since we have The Village (which is a really good map to solo farm with Hunter)
If Sucker Punch decides to patch the game again just because of the recent animation cancel videos I've been putting out, low-key that would suck since I put a lot of time into these videos. It's all good though, since it is their game, and I respect whatever decision they put in going forward.

I’ve been looking everywhere trying to find out how my teammate was able to just stand in the eye of iyo and not get caught. It didn’t look like she was moving at all 😂 this was like two days ago and I still haven’t found a method that resembles what she was doing. You are my hero bro!

Thanks for another good tutorial! Just a couple of questions. How many times do u repitively tap square while holding r1, and when do I release r1. I still remain stuck lol

I keep repeatedly pressing square until I'm unstuck. Did you do an input taking out your katana before mashing ghost weapon?

@@joeyAdominguez thank you! Yes but I pressed L1 instead of pressing square to sheath out the katana. And I was realising r1 way to early. I managed to do it a few times now, but I can't get it consistently lol. It doesn't work when you've also released your katana to early?

There should be bamboo cutting stands where you can practice these combos. This is too complicated for me.

Yup exactly! Revealed that basically at the very end of the video. You just gotta make sure you don't activate wotf the same time the eye is passing or else you get stuck. That twirl animation takes a couple seconds
