Y can use vector and rastor layer in animation u just have to link the first vector layer to the timeline then the rest of the frames will be vector

Raster images are made of pixels while vector images are made based on a math equation. Photographs are usually raster while logo design are vector. Overall if your going to scale an image way down or blow it out really large you should choose vector, however if you don't need to resize the image raster is perfectly fine.

I know this is a bit late of a comment, but fun note; use Vector layer for your lineart. Then you can set the fill tool to fill up to the vector line. Also you can more easily edit the vector lines, and more easily copy and paste lines to reuse on more frames as you need and then manipulate things as you need. Very handy stuff for animation as i learned a few years ago hehe

Also tweening with csp: quick tip :3 You create a key frame, then you copy the thing you want to tween, paste it, you then right click the empty keyframe, and then you click the number that the pasted keyframe is and now you can tween (~￣³￣)~

This was very enjoyable to watch and get a better understanding on the animating for Clip Studio Paint EX. I was planning to try and make an animation adaptation of my visual novel that I'm working on atm (basically an anime adaptation). Only reason I haven't done the animating yet is because I'm working on finishing the visual novel sequel. Also, if you use the line tool with a vector layer instead of a raster layer, you shouldn't have to worry about color getting outside of the character :) I hope this helps. I always use the line tool when making the lineart (Well technically, it's called the Figure tool I guess haha). Anyway, I can't wait to watch your animations from your other videos to see what you made! It might provide inspiration for an animator like me! :D

I agree when you say that Clip Studio Paint is better than Photoshop. Clip studio feel like it was made specifically for artists in mind. But Photoshop more art related tools sometimes feel more like a second thought.

The only con i've come to realise in clipstudio EX is that the program does not support sound scrubbing (for example, krita and toonboom do this, not sure about photoshop(it's the thing where you drag the timeline by mouse and it will play the sound as it goes)) so you need to rewatch your work to make sure the animation fits the sound etc. Of course this can also be done in the editing of the video, but as a person who just imports stuff out of the drawing program itself it has been a problem.

Great video! It motivates me to keep trying to learn CSP. My review so far of the program: Some things are really hidden. (Google is your best bud) And I have Pro and there you can only have 24 frames. But the many different brushes are amazing. (Things I experienced with the program, I think she didn't said ^^)

I know photoshop and toon boom are industry standards But i do not like photoshop...or adobe products in general... I use toonboom at school and its..okay? I use krita, its free, and honestly reminds me a bit of clip studio (how you’ve described it at least) I’ve been really looking into clip studio recently because Though i love krita, but my animation docker b r o k e??? And I can’t fix it, I cant find anyone else who has my issue. Ive been using paint 2D to animate for a bit, its also free, and its okay, not perfect, but I like it and definitely recommend it for beginners. As someone who want to make web comics, the idea of also being able to do that in clip studio. Ive been looking at getting clip for a while now and i think now I’m going to do it

Hi! I have a question about the blending modes. I created a new animation folder with a new animation cel in it, but it doesn't change when I set it to a different blending mode, it just stays 'normal'. It works on a new raster layer, but that way the layer is shown in ALL frames. I really can't figure it out 😬 Thank you in advance!

As someone who's been working with CSP for years but only recently started animating in it, I feel your pain. When you're animating, you don't change the blending mode of the layer itself, you change the blending mode of the animation folder.

It so dumb to do animation because it takes so much time. I mean full.-color and everything- I bet it took you 3 hours to make those 5 seconds and got 40 points to carpal tunnel. If you want to animate....get a team. inbeetweeners, colorist, etc. I animate alone and its too much work for people not to watch it. because everyone is expecting full commercial good looking animation and thats bs.
