The apple is likely used as the icon for the “temptation” scene because we typically represent the fruit of knowledge of good and evil (the fruit that Adam and Eve ate which doomed humanity) with an apple. It was a temptation because it was the one thing Adam and Eve weren’t supposed to eat, and scene in Storyteller is definitely more about the fruit than it is the devil/snake

To answer the question @ 13:35, there is no specific fruit named in the book of Genesis. All we know is it grew on a tree. Apple is just the first fruit people think of, I guess. There is a decent chance that kind of fruit no longer exists if that was the only tree of its kind and the garden of Eden was washed away in the global flood.

The etymology of 'apple' basically means 'fruit' in practically every language that named it. It's the bog-standard fruit. That said I think other regions/translations of the Bible have used other fruit too rather than apples; peaches and figs are ones iirc.

The apple is a symbol of _temptatation_ not the Devil himself. "Apple" was a general term for any kind of foreign fruit before it was given as a name to the fruit we know it as today. A fruit is something good, the enticement part of the temptation that makes it desirable. Lilith is purely invention by people who didn't understand the format of the Creation narative. Just as the narative starts with God creating the heaveans and the Earth before going into detail about how he does it, it also states that he made man and woman before going into detail about how he does it. But, some people think that because of how long it would take for Adam to name all the animals, there must have been a longer time gap between that and Eve's conception. Thus they invented Lilith to "keep the accuracy" forgetting that God is all powerful and could easily present all the animals to Adam in a day.
