It only just dawned on me that The Second Coming is the first of Alan’s creations to have a name that’s *hard-coded* into the mainframe of the operating system, rather than a symbol that was pre-assigned a directive.

they were just toys to him originally. He had a hard time defeating victim but he didnt learn. He nearly lost the battle to the chosen one. He still didnt learn. After losing his computer to the chosen one and the dark lord though was when he learned to stop playing games with stick figures which is probably why he reacted so aggressively to the stick figures. To him even as normal-ish stick figures they were a risk and he wasn't taking any chances. It was only when taking alan off guard with speech that alan changed his mind. As he could now communicate with them. They were intelligent.
