Kefayah Raji Anime is from Japan, Cartoon doesn't have to be from Japan. :) Also, Anime is mostly watched by Teenagers- Adults, while Cartoon often is for children. Cartoon's don't have those stereotype eyes and big boobs, it's mostly a thing in Anime ! :) It looks rather different if you compare Spongebob and Fairy Tail ! :) By the way. Just my personal opinion, feel free to stop reading ! :3 Anime just seems more mature, it gives you the feeling of actually being there with the characters and you really simpathize with them, it's somehow different in Cartoons, especially because Cartoons are mostly comedy and never really intensly show a mature and sad topic. I hope you understand the difference now ! ^w^

try "Skip Beat!" i recommend watching the anime first, then the manga. the anime stops at vol.11 of the manga, but the manga is at vol.31 and still going. Anyways, the male character Tsuruga Ren has a upsetting past, you don't really learn about it in the anime, it's in the manga. It's an awesome anime, though! My sis and i also recommend "Vampire Knight" "Inuyasha" "Yu Yu Hakusho" "Gakuen Alice" and sorta in "Pandora Hearts" and "Fuushigi Yuugi" for guys that have dark/upsetting pasts.
