There is no 2D design movies for Disney anymore because that they are adapting 3D designs in current modern day life. These former 2D Disney art designs are an aesthetic to us both old and new generations.

I have my future part to gain 3D modeling after I already gain a diploma in Online learning of Maya 3D modeling class. Anyway it is best on not to forget the aesthetics and potential of 2D designs and animation, they’re important for bringing new 2D and 3D animations to life. There is no further animation life without 2D. Just do your best on restoring 2D animation after you getting out of Bad Disney company.

But I think there is problem with your judgement: you compare one american animation studio with the entirety of japanese animation which consists of different authors and studios. Compare it with one exact studio, for example A-1, and you may find that it's not like they have much more variety. (Well, of course it's not like every studio has only one style, but that's beside the point).
