I ordered from Taobao twice. Both times their warehouse logistics or overseas delivery (cainiao) crushed my figure box. Both were scale figures that cost $200 USD+ from reputable taobao sellers with silver crowns as their seller rating (means they're reliable). Now I'm going to use a forwarder like superbuy or eship or ezship to see if it's better.

Yeah, I live in Vietnam and even for such a short distance, Cainiao kinda sucks. I recommend store like SOIA with international packaging option, or tried and true stores like Sootang Hobby, BiliBili, GSC, etc. They can be more expensive but packages have arrived to me without even a dent on the outer packaging. I also recommend to never combine a fragile order with normal orders from other shops, or else Cainiao will shove all of the packages into an flimsy black bag.

Oh cainiao does have that problem, which is why i resort to proxy forwarders. That Marin prize figure with dented box was via Cainiao, because it was only prize figure i thought. I don't know how it got so dented even with so much bubble wrap around it. The only explanation is they threw a heavier box on top of it.

Yeah I don't trust taobao in house to ship since they just don't care enough. Personally I been using taobao, although prices rises up little bit for extra protection on packaging overall great experience. Least from boxes I have open most arnt broken or anything.

Congrats on your marriage, I too I'm not this biggest Azure Lane fan but seeing the New Jersey wedding figure caught my attention. Judging by your video she looks gorgeous, I am surprised by the level of detail that has gone into her, which ironically makes her look better than the Freeing 1/4 bunny and for a fraction of the cost lol. I really want that Alice figure, it’s such a simple figure but it’s so nice, it seems to be a very popular figure, it has like 2k likes on AmiAmi, that’s a lot more than any other figure, most have a few hundred. 12:23 Congrats on becoming a part of New Jersey’s harem, wonder how many people bought this figure, she could have a very large harem. I see some people that buy loads of those acrylic plates, they’re a complete waste of space, don’t know why people buy them.

I don't care about damage to prize figure boxes. If corners are creased for scale figures I would care a bit, but I'm more concerned about the figure of course.

I always pay attention to all of the boxes of my figurine purchase. As I am quite a bit of a perfectionist myself. I got sad for some time, tried to fix it for a bit, but forgot about the damaged box later 😂 But it does hurt me a little when I sometimes catch a glance of the boxes that was damaged 😅

Are you not worried that the veil freely resting on her head might cause some damage to the paint on the hair? Is there any chance for that?

Good question, one that i was planning the address in my review later. The answer is no, it won't. The veil has no paint on its inner surface - the whole inner piece is injection molded translucent pvc. So it's a bit like wearing rubber protection over your pp (if that makes sense). The whole figure is very well thought out in design and material choice, down to the assembly process.

Paid for it, might ship it later. And the funny thing about this figure is that, the chinese fanbase is criticizing it as a more expensive version of HK416 wedding figure. Like its the same thing but more yuan😂

Hmm i dont have the HK416 wedding ver. so i can't make a direct comparison, but the base and the extras from the face plate to the 2 bonus items in box should easily add on another 10,000yen minimum, especially when u consider the fact that japanese companies will slap an exclusive label on a single face plate and ask for another 2000, 3000yen for that one piece.

What do you consider expensive shipping? My monthly box from AmiAmi is always around ¥14k-18k, last month was ¥16k. It’s similar shipping things from big bad toy store in the US. I started buying resins with much more expensive shipping so I never mind paying ¥20k for shipping multiple figures.

If it’s a Prize figure I couldn’t care about the box, I actually just throw away the boxes, there’s no point in keeping them, I’m never going to sell it. But if it’s a scale I do care a little, some boxes I’ve broke myself, like the Union Creative To Love-Ru Darkness figures, I’ve broke 3 of those boxes, because of how they’re designed with the window wrapping around to the top of the box, if you put pressure on it at the top the window cracks, and I’ve cracked 3 of them. This figure is actually good value for ¥40k, you get a lot for your money, I payed more than that for the Albedo White Dress by FuRyu, it was ¥44k and it’s not as elaborate as this.

I shipped a batch worth about $500 and there was no damage. So long as you do not ship restricted items (weapons, certain foods, counterfeits like replica clothes) into the country, your stuff shouldn't be seized by customs. The shipping was definitely expensive though, even when I used shipping via ocean.

Not collecting Azur Lane figures (tho I casually play the game) at all, but this bride New Jersey figure is very well made, it was a good purchase! Alice is lovely but I think her skin is too yellowish compared to her pale-ish skin

Actually Alice's skin leans towards pale pink. It looks a bit yellow in this video probably because of light reflecting off other nearby objects onto the figure (it's called light pollution), because I was unboxing multiple items. When i review the figure next week you'll get to see the actual color and detail because I'll film it against a neutral grey colored surrounding. There's a reason why my walls are all grey color and the table has to be white/grey instead of a wooden texture for example. .
