nah fr. the next few arcs in Naruto are what make NARUTO PEAK. TRULY. Any true anime enjoyer who isnt some little enraged kid can love and appreciate how good these next arcs are. The only people who don't love pain assault and fated battle of brothers are legit just those hater anime watchers who just need attention and legit just suck theres no way else to put it. People who try hard to hate Naruto are just funny, so many animes and anime MC's are about appreciating other people, respecting views and perspectives, and all around not being a hateful person, yet the people who somehow never seem to shut up in comment sections and online are just these angry little rats who mainly turn their attention to whatever the most popular shows are just so they can get the most attention and feel as elitist as possible. Anyone who tries to argue Pain Assault isnt one of the best wrriten arcs in all anime is just simply wrong

it feels long because the arcs are long, especially the whole sai/sasuke/tenchi bridge arc is a bit of a slog and the first arc is good but there is a lot of padding, but literally after the first two arcs it's pretty much nonstop bangers for awhile. It also felt longer when airing because of all the filler arcs.

Asuma died in episode 80 of Shippuden, and his father Hiruzen (3rd Hokage), died in episode 80 of Og Naruto. Also in the manga, after Asuma dies, Shikimaru picks up a cigarette and smokes, they changed it for the anime.

One thing that's good about the Akatsuki members is that everyone has their personality and motivation they want to pursue like Deidara has Beauty in an instant like captured memories or fireworks while Sasori has Everlasting Beauty like sculptures etc. Then Hidan has religion while Kakuzu has pursuit in money. Well written characters for a villain that makes you want to play their characters in the Naruto games.

The arc right after Asuma's death, where Team 10 & Kakashi go against the immortal duo, Kakashi Chronicles (Kakashi backstory), Jiraiya Ninja Scroll (Jiraiya backstory), the Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant (Jiraiya vs Pain), Sasuke vs Itachi, Itachi's backstory, Eight-tails, (Six tails: filler arc), Naruto training arc and finally Pain Arc!

Finally privileged enough to reach the point where ur both introduced to hidan and kakuzu properly. When they talk in the forest as their delivering the body for collection. I thought it was just Carter but as soon as I realized that Carter was super into it Jack had already spoken up. And exactly about what I was thinking about. These villains in akatsuki are super interesting. The writing and the idea of an author who has to write villains and how he goes about that. It’s fantastic. I feel the same way, I grew up watching Naruto and was there for it all while it was coming out. So it has a special place in my heart but man you can really see the flaws in the anime when rewatching it. So so so much of it drags and so much feels pointless when you know where it's going. Not all of it is the story's fault because that's just how animes were made during that time period. How anime made now is much better so it's always going to be at a disadvantage when going backwards.
