This makes me wish there was a version of the Devilman story that took place in the 40's, something like a: "Devilman Noir". I think you could do some pretty cool stuff with that, same general characters, different setting, some original story-lines and dynamics to spice things up. Crazier things have been done with Devilman, so I wouldn't mind seeing this.

Andre Akria as a Crime Reporter and Ryo as a police dective go to invistagte a speakeasy ran by a mysterious new gang known as the Goetia in the city (should be a cross between 1930s NYC and Tokyo) upon investigation the two discover that surprise surprise the Goetia are the Demon Mafia and events playout similar to the Orignal series and Akria gets fused with Amon becoming Devilman. Now he must use his new powers to defend the City from the evil plans of the Goetia while seeking the identy if their boss! Throw in some golden age Superman references and we've got ourselves the set up for a good 10 part OVA like Crybaby or a 30 episode series that is quite the unique reimaging
@onepunchboyprime61396 жыл бұрын
Demi-Fiend of Time I like your thinking, very nice ideas. This concept has so much potential, lol.
@demi-fiendoftime38256 жыл бұрын
Andre Thanks just the song alone along with some others comments helped me form this idea. Plus being a massive Shin Megami Tensei/Persona fan it has also added to this idea like the Demon Mafia being named after the Arts Gote, also I've thought of a great fake out about 2/3s through the story that would realy throw people off! It would be at the Point in the story Akria beings to figure out that Ryo aka Satan is the boss of the Demon Mafia also the brake out of their world's version of WW2 is about to start with rumors of a dangerous new weapon being worked on in the city (nukelar bomb is obvious) but when Akria goes to confront his friend he is in for the shock of his life! Two Ryos and one has just shot the other! This would be hinted at throughout the story as sometimes Ryo would have a small scar on his face and there would be confusion among the two about the last time they met up hinting something is going on behind the scenes. The twist once revealed would reveal some of the changes vs the Orignal devilman lore, first the Scared Ryo would reveal himself to be Metatron an angel who is an enforcer of God who was sent to ingnite a war that would purge the filthy demons and humans full of sin from the earth, and have only pure hearted survivors rebuild after everything is destroyed. He explains the Ryo Akria knew was the reincarnation of the fallen Angel Satan who joined forces with the FILthy demons and has been protecting them for years even holding them back when humans showed up (this is the biggest twist right here basicly in this timeline the demons never became dormant instead choseing to live in the shadows to bide their time learning by watching their enemy's creation but grew to have some slight sympathy for the humans not much but still enough they wouldn't attack those who didn't bother them.) After the lore dump Metatron revels he's let some enemy spys into the city to destroy this land of filth as he puts it and this will be the spark that starts his glorius crusade against the fifth. Ryo would then spring to life in his Angel form attacking Metatron asking if he'd like another scar to match the first one he gave him. From there absolute chaos would brake out in the city as demons, angels, and humans fight with of course Miki sadly getting caught in the crossfire -_- Akria rallies the other devilmen in the city to help him stop the fight and locate the bomb before it's too late. Ryo was still planing on destroying the humans but plans had to change because of this surprise attack along with Akria so he learns his lesson before it is too late resulting in a twist on the finale where the two Actualy team up to challenge Metatron and defeat him but the bomb is active and they've only got a few minutes before it detonates, Akria plans to fly off with the bomb only for Ryo to nock him out cold saying "this time I'll be the one to die" implying he rembers the time loop and is trying to end it. So Ryo flys off with the bomb and it does kill him with Akira wakeing up with one of his former friend's feathers on his face. The Angels suddenly leave with one saying to Akria our master has changed his mind about you as you touched the fallen one's heart and they cary off the broken Metatron. A few weeks later the war has stared due to the confusing chaos that happened people still not entirely sure what happened. We see Akira enlisting (strongly implied to be joining eather red cross or search and rescue confusing some why such a big tough guy would chose to help others instead of fight on the front) as he gets on a plane we see him notice a Dove flying in the distance remined of Ryo his last words be for boarding "Of all the Devils I could of ran into why did it have to be you?" We end with Akria's fate left unknown everyone he ever knew and cared about dead. What do you think or should the story just stick to the Orignal plot?
Pfff, now I just imagine Ryoh dressed like an old-school gangster and going "Akira, my boy, someday you and I are gonna start a business. Get what I mean? Nyaaah..."

God damn it, now I want to see a Devilman series set in the 1920's-40's! Devilman Noir sounds fucking amazing! I can see it now, Satan is the Crime boss of one of the big cities, and our main hero is a vigilante seeking to finally take down the Demone Mafia Family Satan runs.

Sound's pretty good but it gives off " I, Frankenstein" vibes which I'm not a big fan of.

I never knew I needed this until now. The visuals go really well with the music.

I don't know what I expected from this video, but an honest-to-god jazz version of the Devilman theme was not it.

Normally I’m all about Niklas’s voice, but damn if that clarinet solo doesn’t just steal the show. Amazing.

I just commented “So, so good” yesterday, but I’m kinda addicted to this, so I’m back.
