Trigun always felt like the overlooked brother stuck in the shadow of Cowboy Bebop, similar art style, jazzy soundtrack, a literal sci-fi space western, I always preferred to CB.

"Trigun" is brilliant, it's one of my all time favourite anime works, both I watched right in the 1998, but honestly it's not a rival to "Cowboy Bebop", which is a transcendental masterpiece. "Trigun" has some critical flaws, but again, it's brilliant and cult work for solid reasons too.

Everyone always forgets Coyote Ragtime Show among Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Outlaw Star. While not on the level of the other three, it was still damn good.

@@jigokuryouken8939 Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star are all space western anime from 1998, coyote ragtime was released much later, so i don't think it can be compared. thats said, I think outlaw star was kind of lacking when i tried watching it. Cowboy Bebop is fantastic, and Trigun fell a little short of it but still moved me massively while i watched it
