About the 48 minutes thing - remember that a lot of the separate events are happening simultaneously, but obviously you can only show one on the screen at the time. So it looks like the events are sequential but it's actually skipping back constantly to show you something else that was happening. Also, fights have been happening at over light speed since before even DBZ - Kid Goku was dodging lightning remember? Which strikes at about 1/3 light speed. And by this point he's thousands of times faster. So any attack that can even come close to hitting Goku must be moving many times the speed of light, or else he would obviously just dodge it. That means the action in the show is slowed way down for us to see. So yeah, 35 episodes for 48 minutes, but there's other factors.

Melon, you have to take into consideration Goku at the tournament of power is 47 years old and is a grandpa and Vegeta iss 55 at the tournament of power, taking that into consideration, Goku and Vegeta are fighting geniuses however they've just gotten to the point in their age where their feeling I'm too old to be outsmarting people and basically just I'm bored and I'm doing this to screw with you. Also Gohan right there at that moment the seriousness and the weight of each elimination knowing that everyone is fighting for their survival and actually if you think about this the grand Minister seems to be a little more in control of the situation than zeno is and there's been a rumor that the grand minister is actually the Omni King and Zeno was just a front

What's sad is you can notice the degradation of Goku's creativity as a fighter when Dragon Ball became more mainstream and Toei started asking Akira Toriyama to keep going after the Cell Games concluded and the Buy saga started (although, it was an amazing ending imo, still love Super, but it's incomparable to DBZ)
