Not sure if you'll see this, but I was at your first concert in Singapore 10 years ago, and had the pleasure of attending your concert again at the Esplanade last week. It's amazing to see how far you've come, from performing in a small high school auditorium to an amazing concert hall. This song is still my favourite of yours by far, so it was so great to hear the story you shared behind it. It was magical to get to listen to it live again! I only wish that you'd done an encore of My Dearest like you did back at the first concert haha. I hope to hear a 20 year anniversary edition one day! And I hope I don't have to wait 10 more years for your next tour!

As a college student, I started to watch Animenz’s video about 6 years ago. When I was very young, I was forced to play the piano by my mother. At that time, I had no interest in playing the piano. However, everything changed when I entered junior high school. I started to watch anime and I fell in love with anime music. Sometimes I would imagine what will be like if anime music is combined with piano. Then I started to search anime piano videos on internet. Luckily, I found Animenz’s anime piano cover of the OST from Sword Art Online. Since then, I discovered the incredible possibilities that piano has and I fell in love with piano. I also started do anime piano arrangements while I am practicing. His music has kept motivating me to play the music that I like. I can learn a lot either from his live concert or his piano videos. What’s more, we even became friends last year. Finally, because of my love for animation, I held my first anime piano concert in Syracuse University last November. Animenz encouraged me before my concert and he gave me a present after my concert. I was so happy! I want to say that thank you Animenz. Thanks for the power and motivation you have brought us! We will keep supporting you in the next 10 years!

Hey there, Animenz Just want to say, how much this song, "My Dearest" meant to me just like it is to you. 7 years ago, just when Guilty Crown was airing, I was a mere middle schooler who couldn't hold the simplest of conversations. No one would sit with me, simply because I didn't talk. The endless fights between my parents, and their abuse drove me away from trying to make any social contact, because I thought that I'd just get hurt even more. It was truly, the lowest point of my life. Then on the same day I first heard this song, a special someone held out their hands for me. "Hey, you're actually a very smart and kind person, aren't you? You should talk more" She said with the brightest smile. There, I came into realization that no matter how scary it is to change, I need to take the first step. My life will never change if I don't take the initiative by myself. Even if the steps I made were small, salvation can only be reached if I went forward. And then, here am I now. A graduate from a goverment-sponsored student exchange program to Japan, where I made friends with people all across the globe. An active club mentor, and a volunteer at local NGO's devoted to education. Everyday I interact with hundreds of people, and it all started from that day 7 years ago, when I first heard this song. Thank you for reminding me about my journey, and especially this song. Happy 10th Anniversary, Animenz. Let's hope that the future holds bright for all of us.

Dear Animenz, I dont know where to start, so I will just list of things in a random order. I cant double check anyway because of the tears blocking my vision. When I first heard Your original my Dearest I was absolutely in awe. I didnt know a human could produce such sounds. It captured me and I still listen to it on an almost daily basis, together with the rest of your work. And now you do this. You just did it. HOW MUCH can a human improve and perfect in a musical arrangement, I dont know anymore. In the beginning I thought "oh, a nice remake, maybe it will have some new nuances. But after the first seconds I noticed something was different. Your accents where even more on point, the harmonies richer, the melody was singing to me, it was amazing! The feeling you put into this flows out so much it overwhelmed me. You are and will always be my symbol of passion and dedication, inspiring and for ever out of reach at the same time. I usually dislike pianists who "fake" their "emotional" movement into a song, or those who just close their eyes because it looks cool and impressive, but for you that just wasnt the case. Your feelings are so real, you can hear them in every note you play, in a way I havent heard any other pianist. This isnt just any cover, you created something new. Something special, wonderful, touching your very soul. So Thank you! Thank you so so much!! I cant thank you enough for what you have given me and many others. Im just a random stranger who writes a way too long comment on a video posted online. It probably will be swallowed up by the mass of people loving you, and may even come across a little creepy. But nevertheless. Words cant express anymore what I feel right now. Thank you.

@@rezadwintasari2429 you can just type "animenz 11th anniversary" on youtube. Its made by the anime pianist community and its one of the craziest piano project I've seen so far.

I can't believe how much I've grown since I've seen this anime and heard this the first time. I'm getting memories back from middle school and how much my life has changed for the better. I can't believe how much has happened in 6 years and this reminded me of the person I wanted to be back then and I'm glad how I am now. Despite dealing with Corona and all of its effects to my daily life I can still be happy thanks to anime and music.

Your first “My Dearest” video was the first video I ever saw from this channel I fell in love with your playing with that one video Hearing such beautiful and emotional playing of a beautiful and emotional song that’ll always mean so much to me, I knew I’d found something special Thanks so much for everything. Sometimes it’s still the smaller things that can really mean something to someone, and I’m so thankful that even just watching some youtube videos from you have given me so much happiness over the years, and I’m always going to treasure that happiness Thank you

11 years later who could've known that those old recordings of you simply playing piano aggressively and taking on a challenge for yourself would be held as the best anime pianist by many people. For the past 7 years of me following this channel through multiple accounts, I'm thankful. I've always aspired to play piano ever since I encountered this channel and I've yet to make that dream come true but hopefully someday, I'll be able to take up the piano and play as beautifully as you. It is something truly beautiful. Thank you.

The last part, starting from 7:01 till the end, sounded to me like you expressing utmost gratitude through this song. Of course, you already mentioned that yourself in the description, but I just wanted to say: Yes, it reached me. It reached us. I actually cried listening to it. So it really reached us. Thank you too, Animenz!

I remember way back 2 years ago, I was studying and reviewing for my upcoming licensure examination and I had to refrain myself from watching animes to help me focus. But to compensate that, I listen to his covers! It became my study music ever since and now I still hold that license. Ever thankful. Ever the best. Ever timeless, Animez. Love from Philippines!

I was practicing piano for around 6 years, and I wasn't very passionate about it. Actually I dropped it for different reasons, but one day I watched Your lie in april and something started to shine again inside me. I found your arrangement of the OP. And something changed, I actually bought a complete piano and started playing again. This was 3/4 years ago and now I continue playing. Not much unfortunatelly, but when I do is for genuine love to music. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to come back

Although I'm kinda late to the party, I just want to say I regret not clicking this video earlier. I knew about your cover back in 2020 and started listening to you daily since early this year. However, there's this cover that I'm always hesitant to click on, bc I've never heard the original before. About 2 weeks ago, I was bored and I didn't know what to do, so I decided to give it a try. And I would say, this is one of the most beautiful piano arrangements I've listened. The amount of attention to even the smallest details makes me overflowed with emotion. I even shed tears on the 3:08 part (which I never did once when listening to piano) :grinning_face_with_sweat: . And now I listen to this song everyday, each time recognizing more and more new details. Congratulations for the 2 million subscriber milestone recently and I hope you can create more covers in the future

Three years ago I came across your first version of 'my dearest' and to me, it was probably the most inspiring video I've ever seen. I listened to nothing but your videos for months and eventually you were the reason I started playing the piano. I'm not aspiring to become a professional pianist or something, I just do it because I love it. Thanks for helping me discover my love for playing. Oh and this version is absolutely beautiful by the way :)

This song is so pretty… So, everything that makes me whole I’ll dedicate to you with all my soul I’m Yours Hey, I have never smiled like this in my life Cause I never had a real reason to ‘Till now, I can say for sure That on this path, I’ve been wandering along just to reach you As I stumble by with each step I take I know, I stand alone And as we reach out farther now, My hand in yours, we’ll find our way There is nothing, in this world that Can attempt to come between us, you and me “You’re no longer alone now” You tell me as you smile again at me When there is something you hold dear That you’ll protect with all your heart But you don’t know just what to do You’re frozen in time at the start When all your hopes and dreams seem lost And darkness creeps into your thoughts And the feeling keeps consuming you As endless despair fills your heart I’ll be the light that guides your way I’ll keep on shining down on you Like a fire that keeps on burning Eternally for all the world So, everything that makes me whole I’ll dedicate to you with all my soul I’m Yours Hey, in this whole wide world there’s more than one way To define the feeling of happiness With you, maybe I can find it too Even if you are a called a liar, when what you speak is only truth And everyone is cold and cruel, relentless are their words to you Even if no one hears you out and they’ve lost all their faith in you When it’s as if, they’ve given up And placed a crown of thorns on you I’ll stand beside you all the way I’ll give you my friendship and love For I know what it’s like to be Defenseless, feeling all alone So, everything that makes me whole I’ll dedicate to you with all my soul I’m Yours If you seek me out someday, you’ll know just where I’m sure to be I promise you that I’ll be there, I’m always waiting patiently Even if there is nothing left, and hope is dwindling every day And if I start to fade away, I don’t belong here anyway I know you’ll never forget me, you’ll always have those memories I know you more than anyone, I trust you’ll surely be ok That’s why I’ll give you everything I’ll dedicate to you it all With my soul
