My favorite part about his universe is that there isn't any special hero juice. No Chakra, Ki, devil fruits, quirks, or any other random trait(not throwing shade, I love those shows). These are just people living in this crazy world. Sure some are telepaths and cyborgs. But others are just dudes in tanktops or with baseball bats. It gets rid of that "if only I had x special thing, then I could be a hero" trope. It shows how heroes draw power from themselves and who they are. I think it's really powerful.

Kinda of a late answer but in the manga they explain that most of the S class heroes were B or C class before the S class was made, including Metal Bat. Usually to go to S class after it was made you had to show an enormous amount of power (Like Genos destroying that scientist's lab in the start or King "killing" that attack on Titan looking monster)

Could be. He could have lost his memory, along with his hair. One of my theories is that Blast actually gave away his powers, to Saitama, with out Saitama knowing it happened. That is why we don't see Blast and why Saitama went from being a normal guy to god-like powers. It could be that those powers are passed from person to person. Blast got bored of those powers and winning every fight so easily (just like Saitama) so he passed the torch to someone determined to be a hero.
