I felt that Kaido is being underestimated..remember he took serious damage from Zoro's Enma combo as well as taking a radio knife from Law straight to the heart...that's not passive damage at all. @Choppa Creed Kaido ran a gauntlet of 6 Supernova level characters, 6 Commander level characters, 3 first mate level characters (all with Ryuo/hax specifically to damage him) and then still proceded to beat a Yonko level luffy 2 times and still really pushed him the 3rd time, all without rest. Kaidos defeat was a Group effort. Luffy contributed maybe 60%. Even now: Kaido > Luffy

When we first saw Blackbeard he was basically a joke character but throughout the series he became one of the biggest threats in One Piece. Where Luffy has the heart of a pirate aka complete freedom, Blackbeard is a true pirate. I could actually see Blackbeard getting the one piece first and becoming the 2nd king of the pirate until Luffy stops him.

Kaido* On Onigashima ran a gauntlet of: 6 Supernova level characters (Kawamatsu, Kinemon, Kiku, Raizo, Izo, Killer), 6 Commander level characters (Asura, Denjiro, Sulong Nekomamushi and Inuarashi, Kidd, Law) [all previous 12 characters have special abilities specifically to counter Kaidos durability], 3 first mate level characters (Ryuo Luffy, Enma Zoro, Yamato) and 3 rounds against a mid, later high level, Yonko level character (Luffy) who could between each round rest/rejuvernate, while Kaido fought continuosly. Also dont forget about the further Yonko level attack by Zoro and the 11 more Ryuo/acoc sneak attacks by the Scabbards, Yamato and Luffy. Comparing this to Big Mom (a mid level Yonko with above average durability) being defeated just by being pecked at by characters that cant get past her durability in the first place and then slowly chipped away at by two first mate level characters illustrates how insane Kaidos gauntlet was. "Strongest creature in the world" and " in a 1v1 bet on Kaido" shouldnt be taken lightly. Tldr: Kaido has a Yonko level offence but a Pirate King level defence. -> high Yonko - low Pirate King level *3. Shanks* On par, and likely surpassing the strongest swordsman in the world, likely the greatest haki master alive to make up for his lack of a devil fruit, the most intelligent one on this list. Many believe him to even surpass Kaido but lets not forget that Kaidos defeat was more of a group project than anything else while Shanks' coming defeat by Luffy will likely be a 1v1. Kaido also held the title of worlds strongest creature something that often goes ignored by the fandom. Its possible that Shanks will prove to be stronger than Kaido when he finally properly fights but until then Kaidos feats place him above Shanks. -> high Yonko level *4. Luffy* Managed to overpower the strongest creature in the world in Gear 5, however Gear 5 has a short duration to it and rapidly drains his energy. In addition to that Luffy had 3 rounds against Kaido, in between which Luffy rejuvernated somewhat, while Kaido had no time to rest; not to mention all the other opponents Kaido fought prior to Luffy to weaken him. Still even without Gear 5 Luffy is at least mid Yonko level. -> mid-high Yonko Level. *5. Big Mom* The most quintessential Yonko in the series. Strong devil fruit, advanced conquerers haki, immense physical powers. Not much to say here. Probably wins against low-mid Yonko level characters like Oden, Reighley, Sengoku, old WB etc. but loses to high Yonko level characters like Shanks, Mihawk or Luffy. -> mid Yonko level *6. Blackbeard* He wasnt confident enough to take on an old Reighley, who at this point is low-mid Admiral level. He could have beaten him but it would have been a struggle. His performances against Law, Boa and the Seraphim as well as running from Akainu prove this placement. He'll have to get another power up (3rd fruit maybe) before he can fullfill the end game villain role hes destined for. -> high Admiral - low Yonko level *7. Buggy* surprise to no one -> East Blue level lmao

Kid and Law threw her off the island, she was never BEATEN but rather thrown off a island while fully awake, and literary telling Kid and Law, their attack can't put her down. G5th is stronger than Law and Kid?? This is headcanon. Law and Kid took on a Yonko at 100% from the start, meanwhile Luffy, had countless help, recovery time, food, MORE help, and won. Personally, you can't say "Kaido 100% took damage" and then seconds later disregard him having taken an enormous amount of damage just because he was still competing and besting Luffy who had power up after power up. Idk how something that perfectly highlights Kaido's monstrous strength and stamina, is then used to downplay him. If it was just Kaido vs Luffy 1v1, from the start, we know who's winning. A pretty decent list all in all imo except for the position of the King of Beasts ! you're heavily underestimating and underrating Kaido. Luffy won but come on he came back a lot of times after getting healed and everything while Kaido didn't have any break (luffy is my favorite character btw so no bias here). Also the argument with Shanks stopping him is not that big of a deal as it was the whole Red Hair Pirates stopping only Kaido and King as only the two of them went to Marineford. Also the thing of him losing 7 times was when he was waaaay younger and inexperienced without devil fruit (before he joined Rocks) so obviously he would lose at some point no one is born the strongest but they become the strongest after losing and then winning. P retty sure even the likes of WB, Roger and Shanks lost at some point before becoming the strongest. I think Kaido should be either second (after prime WB) or third (after WB and Shanks).

Meaning Luffy had a lot of rest. The Shanks thing it’s 100% clear they didn’t fight, Shanks most likely told him about Luffy being joyboy. Also Kaido himself says it’s been a long time since he experienced an even fight or something like that, meaning either Shanks wasn’t a worthy opponent or they didn’t fight. Lastly, for the Shanks topic, Kaido himself says NOBODY can beat him, the narrative says NO ONE can beat him in a 1v1, and Shanks in the Ace Novel was stated to be the weakest Yonko. It makes no sense, Kaido was the strongest Yonko, then Big Mom, then Whitebeard, and then Shanks. If we’re talking about marineford Shanks was stronger than Whitebeard because of Conq coating.

I'd like to say that Kaido and Big Mom should be higher up on the list. Before fighting Luffy, Kaido was lifting an entire island. He was also scarred by a Conquerors infused Zoro. Big Mom was also nerfed before fighting Kid and Law by using up a portion of her soul. But this could be considered a buff as Hera is considered more powerful than Zeus, which also proves my point. Kaido fought numerous opponents and took so much damage and all the while carrying an Island. While Luffy had 3 months worth of food to recover I wouldn't put Luffy above Kaido but I would place him above Big Mom though. Luffy and Kaido should be switched, Luffy did defeat Kaido, but Kaido beat Luffy 3x, and fought like 15 people without rest. Including Zoro, Kid, Law, the scabbards, Yamato and Luffy. Luffy was able to rest and eat and recover multiple times. And he did all this while carrying Onigashima.

I think people are underrating Kaido and overrating BB too much. BB is the most pirate-like pirate in the verse. He relies on dirty tactics and schemes. Because of that, I don’t think he’s had much experience in blooming his haki. He’s also too reliant on his and his crew’s devil fruits. As Kaido has said, true strength can be measured by haki. We can’t even confirm yet if he has conqueror’s. And after the war in Wano, we just saw you’d need to have adv conqueror’s to stand up to the OG yonkou. Rayleigh’s mere appearance gave him a run for his money. Until BB has shown these feats, we can’t assume that he’s that strong. Up until no, everything is still theoretical about BB’s strength. As for Kaido, just because Luffy beat him, doesn’t mean he’s weaker than Luffy. In the first place, he already has a handicap because he’s spending energy lifting Onigashima up. He defeated Luffy twice one-on-one. He clashed with a plethora of people, including a swordsman who cut him, his son who has conqueror’s, and Law who has a broken devil fruit that can stunt regeneration. And the only real reason he wasn’t able to get back up is because, just like BM, he was trapped in lava. If he’s to clash with BB one-on-one, BB might not win through sheer haki levels alone.

Of all the “pirates” Black beard is the only one who feels like an actual pirate. Buggy is a corporate schemer. Kaido and Big Mom are warlords and conquers. Luffy is a freedom seeker. Shanks doesn’t really have a pirate feel to him at all, he’s a mostly an underworld boss feel than a pirate. Also Buggy is clearly the strongest.

It's been said many times in the comments, but I really don't think we can call Kaido's fight with Luffy 1:1. Kaido fought the A9 Samuari, Yamato, Momonoske in dragon form, ZORO and Luffy all in one setting. Some of those fights even happened during his fight with Luffy as Luffy recovered. That's hardly 1:1 lol Then he snuck Kaido after recovering from the dead. Lol I still think Gear 5 Luffy could have won, but he was definitely outclassed beforehand. It was like the fight with Katakuri. Luffy FOUND a way to win, but he didn't start that fight more powerful than his opponent. Lol

Imo in a 100% 1 vs 1 Luffy would still lose against him. Kaido was 2 years after Marineford the stronges pirate. So we can say he was stronger than shanks in a 1 vs 1. Shanks was on the top 5 list of Kaido, not BM. So i would rank him over BM. BM is in the 3rd place for me. She is still on of the stronges in 1 vs 1. Law and Kid would never have defeat her without some luck and tricks. Luffy and BB is difficult imo, because we didnt see a fight 1 vs 1 of Teach now. Maybe Luffys haki is even stronger. 4th place for Teach maybe because of his experience? Dont know. I would rank Teach over Luffy ... for now. Because maybe his df is the ultimate counter against the Nika fruit. Buggy on 6.

This is my list 1. Whitebeard 2. Kaido 3. Shanks 4. Luffy 5. Big Mom 6. Blackbeard 7. Buggy Kaido wasnt even serious in that fight, he was drunk and just having fun with Luffy, if he was really bloodlusted seriously then he could've defeated all of them since the beginning plus, Kaido had to fight Yamato, Zoro, The other supernova's and the scabbards. Also Big Mom is highly underrated in this list, it took an Awakened Law and an Awakened Kid which are both Low Yonko level, Blackbeard with half of his crew was struggling to beat Law meanwhile Law had someone strong with him but still was struggling with Big Mom, just shows how different Big Mom and Kaido is, Also Shanks is heavily overrated with no main good feats, sure he made Greenbull ran away but Shanks literally has his entire crew with him plus Strawhat pirates and the people of wano, so yeah.

Luffy and Blackbeard are gonna progressively powering up till the end but as of now. My ranking goes.. 1. Whitebeard (Prime) 2. Shanks 3. Kaido 4. Big Mom 5/6. Luffy/Blackbeard 8. Buggy Kaido and Shanks are interchangeable but I do believe Shanks does Extreme Diff Kaido. And I dont think neither Luffy nor Blackbeard can defeat a fresh Kaido in a straight up 1v1 as of YET.

Kaido had been fighting multiple days fight after fight still technically beat luffy then luffy pull gear 5 out his butt to finally beat a tired kaido. So I would say luffy is either in between kaido and big mom or below both

I still doubt Luffy is stronger than Kaido. Kaido was caught off guard by a completely new and random transformation with weird abilities after being jumped numerous times. If they were to fight again with both at full stamina and no injuries, Kaido would win 7/10 times.

Sun God Nika was Foreshadowed the Minute Black Beard got his devil fruit and when we seen the clip of Luffy dancing at the bonfire. Luffy is the opposite of Black Beard so we should have know Luffy could not have a Paramicia like Black Beard did. A logia devil fruit and a Paramicia are more alike than a Zoan and a Paramicia are. So therefore Luffy actually had a Zoan so he could be the opposite of Black Beard. Then the clip of him dancing at the bonfire showed a bit of how Luffy would look and act in Gear 5 Nika

You ever think, raileigh also feels it’s not his era to fight for anymore since he is retired. He just seems to be passive overall like just doing enough to guide the next era. Unfortunately blackbeard has not impressed me. We haven’t seen enough of him to give him credit but I guess shanks is the same. We only see aftermath of what they do. But BB seems to be best against non df users. I’d be interested in seeing him against someone with advance conquers and advanced armament. Cause he took a hit from gear two luffy and that hurt him a lot.

I think buggy is underrated as a yonko, obviously he’s nowhere near as strong as the others and even some warlords but it’s how easily he can get people to go along with his plans and it’s quite funny how most of his success is just from misunderstandings and sheer dumb luck not to mention that he has the charisma where none of his crew abandon him even if it means risking their lives

It seems more like 1. Whitebeard-strongest man/pirate 2. Kaido-strongest pirate/creature since Whitebeard's gone. 3. Shanks-Big mom wasn't able to deal with him. 4. Luffy-Is implied to be one of the few individuals who can take on Kaido kinda difficult to gauge due to the circumstances of his conflict with Kaido. 5. Big mom-Essentially stated she couldn't defeat the other yonko. 6. Blackbeard-Stated he's not ready to take on Shanks and was very concerned about taking on Rayleigh who'd be defeated by Big mom as it's implied that kizaru who Rayleigh was struggling to even hold off could take down Big mom at extreme extreme dif. 7. Buggy

Black Beard Vs Luffy is gonna be the strongest Paramicia Vs the Strongest Zoan. Throw Akainu in there and we have the Strongest Logia. I think it makes sense for Black Beard to not ever get Conquerers haki because Luffy has Conquerors haki and they need to be opposites. It makes more sense for Black Beard to try to be proving the narrative wrong about needing haki to become Pirate King. Maybe Black Beard will have 20 or more devil fruits in the end of One Piece and Luffy will be the perfect matchup because he can do whatever he wants to now with the Nika Sun God Awakening. Plus Luffy mastered all 3 Haki Types.
