Can’t believe we’re at the point where student animation projects look just as decent as the work of most major studio produced animated flicks nowadays. About a decade ago you could’ve fooled me into thinking these are all Pixar, but then again now they’re already on a completely different level of animated realism lol
@goku21youtub4 жыл бұрын
technically amazing and hq , but every character seems to have the exact same personality with the heavy overacting and round movement , seems like the tutors are forgetting about characters which move differently -> stiff, gentle, hectic, pressured whatever , these charaxters all move like the 1000s copy of a copy of some disney movie , nice exceptions were the cartoony mad lizard and the skull one .
@danielgiles8334 жыл бұрын
i agree and it all feels very commercial because of the lack of individuality. it would be nice to see some unique art styles.
@Xlore1274 жыл бұрын
The problem is the industry. 3D is a segment of 2D and professional animation in the western world takes from the lessons all the great Disney animators gave. The entire animation industry learned to animate from Disney so thats why all the student work looks like Disney work.
@xdavier314 жыл бұрын
@@Xlore127 Agreed, also it might have to do with that fact they're given the same models/style to use(or at least that's how I think it works) and also I think it'd be fair to say that the directing in all the clips seem the same or very similar(Wide Shot with minimal cuts, maybe that's a requirement that they're given because I've noticed this in all the reels.). Everything seems very Disney/Pixar inspired and none of these reels(I've watched each one from 2016-2020) seem to take inspiration from other genres(like westerns, black & white, old school samurai films, etc). They do look nice though I will say that, I just wish in the next reel the clips show more creativity from the student picks. Edit: I did like the mad max setting clip by Kseniia
@ssssssm83784 жыл бұрын
@@xdavier31 It deffo looks like this school is meant to teach you about the complexities of acting in a 3D software. More of it is focused on the character's acting and how it adheres with the audio the students choose, so the assets the students are given are a kind of easy way to help them communicate the personalities behind the characters...something that big industry studios like Pixar/Disney/Dreamworks/Bluesky probably want. I guess you can say that the shots students produce here are good for their chances at getting jobs.
@Som3D4 жыл бұрын
THIS IS FUNNY BECAUSE SOMEOME WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW REALISTIC ONE OF THE ANIMATIONS FROM THE 2018 STUDENT SHOWCASE WAS I guess people complain when it's realistic but complain when it's Disney like or cartoony it's confusing
