Last September 30th we left for Sikkim and on October 2nd we started our journey from Gangtok to North Sikkim. In the long time I have been traveling to different places, this is the first time I have traveled through a travel agency.
The day we left for North Sikkim the sky was crystal clear. On the way to Chungtham Dam, the weather was not too bad. This Chungtham is a place from where the road to Lacchen and Lachung splits. Gurudommar Lake towards Lachen and Yumtham and Zero Point will be found towards Lachung. Therefore, the importance of this bridge in Chungtham is very high from all sides.
Due to the collapse of this Chungtham Dam and Bridge North Sikkim faced such a big disaster. Along with this, a total of 17 bridges from Chungtham to Gangtok were destroyed and about 12 kilometers of roads were completely wiped out. Around 3400 tourists were stranded in Lachung and Lachen. After coming to the army camp every day and waiting for hours. They were the only ones who saved us. By listening carefully to everyone, trusting everyone and repeatedly appealing to everyone to maintain morale, I rediscovered the Indian Army.
Today's video is about how the Indian army rescued us after being stuck in this disaster for six days.

My father served in the Indian Army for 30yrs as a commissioned officer in Armoured Corps and received 3 galantary awards and 7 other service medals. He faced various war fronts like 1971, 1989, 1999 kargil war, and several other insurgency operations and rescue operations, including UN peacekeeping missions. He always used to say.. "sewa parmo dharma" and he lived his life with this principle. While my heart goes out to feel for the ordeal you went through, really appreciate that you rose above the emotional barriers that would have come your way under such very circumstances to appreciate the role played by our defence forces to alleviate the situation. Hats off to your positive attitude in the midst of such challenges to come out, face the reality and appreciate the true heroes who also had lost a lot of fellow soldiers due to the calamity and yet continued to do their best to help and save people. In this context I also recall a heart wrenching experience wherein a fellow vlogger of yours resorted to very lowly tactics and disgusting behaviour in the face of much lesser difficulties when a Vande Bharat met with an accident and the Indian Railways was trying to help out. Such despicable individuals should take lessons from you on how to conduct oneself during catastrophic situations. You have truly come out as a role model. Respect 🙏
