Though, serving the nation covertly he became escape goat of political conspiracies even initiation of CM against him( Though, later on it was dropped) to the extent of humiliation and even mental torture by the incumbent. For those that don't know, the tangkhuls have similarities with the punjabi muslims of pakistan. The PMs want the throne of new delhi(who rules delhi rules India) else there will be no peace. Similarly, the tangkhuls want the throne of dimapur(or the throne of naga tribes) else there will not be any peace. They want(demand) the politicians in new delhi to make this happen or at least arrange an atmosphere which allows the installation of a parallel govt(their version of autonomy) till the true rulers of nagas(ie, tangkhuls) can finally rally forth from their manipuri slumber and take command of their inheritance.
