Type 1 diabetic for 12 years and am currently in the end of 4th quarter of Nursing school. Better understanding DKA and having an ER doc I work with state that "we aren't treating the high blood sugar, but we are treating the anion gap" when caring for patients in DKA has brought me to more questions and seeking better clarification.
