A young actor who acted as a bisexual boy in a show was literally bullied, mostly by straight people, "because why is a straight man in a queer role, he's stealing roles from queer people" to the point that he was FORCED to come out of the closet. Is that better in your opinion than having assumed straight actors act in queer roles? Acting is their job, afterall - and I say "assumed" because straightness seems to be your default for everyone unless they come out to you? I personally don't assume anything, because there is literally no way of knowing for sure unless someone opens their mouth and says it - until then you're only making assumptions. I could only be seen dating the opposite gender, but just because I appear straight it doesn't change the fact that I'm queer. And yes, I am queer myself. To me all that matters is that the role is given to the person who did the best in their audition or is the person they envisioned for the role from the beginning. I wouldn't want to know I got a job just because I'm the correct sexuality for it, if another candidate did better than me. Plus, it's illegal in many countries for employers to ask about the sexuality of the people they're hiring...

They are basically saying that it is really cute how awkward and clumsy Nakamura-kun is. Japanese rarely ever use gender pronouns in sentences when there is context who they are talking about. Google translate saw the missing pronoun and just assumed and translated as she.

A bit disappointed it's not Kappei and Junko. I already loved their voices in the drama CDs. Kappei's voice suits the character design of Nakamura because of the 80s/90s style, also looking like Kudo Shin'ichi. And Junko as Hirose is so cute. Zannen da.
