To be honest dear Anis, you are still relatively young at the age of 49. I'm 61 and my aging process is going fast. I looked in the mirror in a shop today and was horrified to see the loss of volum in my face. It made me feel awful and almost as if I looked at a stanger. Aging hurts! But your face still has volume. You are also very blessed that you could be just yourself and not need to wear makeup for more than 15 years. That's awsome. I have had to wear makeup since I was a teenager bc of skin problems. However I do count my blessings. I still have many reasons to be thankful but I never knew aging would be so painful.

Ms. Qizilbash you have aided me in teaching me not to worry and so I thought I might return the favor as far as aging. I haven't watched this aging video and while I'm sure it's wise about dealing with the reality of aging I wanted to give you tips that work on how to make your skin look younger (I do this by the way): 1.) A monthly facial with micro dermabrasion 2.) 80 ounces to a gallon of water a day - more than the daily recommended 64 ounces and less than a dangers amount of fluid. 3.) Sleep 8 hours or more daily, do not stay up late and give yourself eye bags 4.) Wear SPF 50+ daily on your face, neck, decolletage, and the back of your hands. 5.) eat leafy greens and/or fruits and vegetables daily and limit sugar intake 6.) Do not go outside during peak UVA/UVB periods of 10 am - 2 pm. Put Suntek window tints on your car. 7.) Wash your face 2x daily and use vitamin C liquid, glycolic acid, retinol cream for under eyes, and moisturizer and sunscreen. 8.) Speak daily affirmations that your skin is healthy and young and have a young picture of a celebrity that looks like the younger version of you and say you look younger than her. 8.) Do not smoke, drink alcohol as little as possible 9.) Follow Melissa55 and Chris Gibson on KZbin, both ar 60 +, I think Melissa is almost 70 and they look great.

Hey Anis! One word: WOW! Great video! Great message! I can relate. After years of dying my hair and beard, I have finally embraced the aging process. It was so hard.I liked that you touched on gratitude and feeling lucky to be alive. I needed to hear this to awaken my gratitude again.And once again thank you for touching my life and helping me. Keep it real. Lawrence🙏🏾❤

Hey you, I had a feeling this would resonate with you. I hear you, it’s hard. when people like Will Smith and Kevin Hart die their hair and beard, they miss a massive opportunity to make millions of people feel visible and normal. Yey you for letting go and embracing it. embrace you silliness and keep being you👍🏼❤️👊🏽 we get to keep going and live this gift called life. Xx

Hi Anis, such a genuine and delicate video!!! Thank you for sharing your emotions and your thoughts. Aging...its not easy at times its true and you need reminders sometimes to cherish the journey as it is :). You just did that and I smiled listening to you. Treasure every day by seeing what's around you and caring for the people you love, being grateful for what you have. Age does not matter, its a number and your heart gets more and more pockets of memories as the journey continues.

This is so beautiful, raw and honest Anis, thank you. I still remember the powerful workshop you did for the British Library business series a couple of years (plus) ago. Your extraordinary compassion for humanity is wonderful and allows for such growth and grace. I am 42 and struggling so much with my sudden (or at least they feel sudden!) changes in the mirror. However I then feel awful about caring so much- as a woman who knows my value is utterly unrelated to my external appearance and yet still feels the loss of that social currency keenly. Your video reminded me it’s ok to feel loss and a sense of sadness and to be compassionate with myself, which then allows a gentle acceptance and shift of focus and perspective. Thank you so much! What a long essay!

Thanks for sharing, Helen. You're spot on, women have been programmed to overly value external appearance. Reframing the process to "i get to do this" helps me daily, as i continue to metamorphasise (haha). We have an opportunity to be an example and age disgracefully. It doesn't help that there are so few women over 40 and 50 visible in the media, movies, stages, etc. I think if we see more, it will show us there's more to life than our appearance. Keep soaring, Helen. Xx

thank you for sharing this with us. it took a lot of vulnerability on your part. i am glad you moved from a place of grief into blessing. i read once that aging can be about building wisdom, experience, and resiliency. i think that is pretty cool. love. jam ps i am 43 turning 44 in september.
@AnisQiz2 жыл бұрын
that's true, Jam, you are wiser, you have more life experience, and as a result, more resilient. It's wonderful that's why I am happy with where I am and have absolutely no desire to go back 10 or 20 years :) Yey for you turning 44 soon. xx

Hey Maria, aww, sorry your message vanished, I would loved to have read it. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, and I’m glad it resonated. “suffering in silence” can amplify the negative feelings, but if we talk about it we realise we’re not alone. It’s normal. But above all, let’s go forward disgracefully, be silly, have fun filled adventurous lives, take risks and go out on a high. 👋🏽🙏🏽❤️

@@AnisQiz I'll try and remember what I wrote and rewrite it here in the hope that it doesn't disappear again. I really enjoyed listening to what you said in your video and genuinely would've put you in your early forties rather than the later end. I feel our western culture idolises youth and yet it's so temporary and so fleeting for every single one of us. It definitely is considerably harder for women as a lot of our worth and value is still tied up in our fertile years. The pressure to stay young has led many once very attractive women to destroy their faces with procedures they never actually needed which is pretty tragic. I remember seeing myself laughing and saw so many crows feet that I'd never noticed before. It was one of those 😱moments but as you say, it's an inevitability and we have the privilege of being alive.
@AnisQiz2 жыл бұрын
@@mariarossi6719 ah, thanks for taking the time to write this, Maria. Yes the crow's feet was another OH, moment for me. But it's better to have crow's feet than a joyless heart :) We need constant reminders how lucky🙏we are to live this long because we're constantly interrupted with images and messages that hide us.
@aotearoamusic19956 ай бұрын
I love crows feet, freckles and patchy skin. It's characterful. I can't explain it really but it's interesting. Im 48 and I have terminal asbestos cancer and even though my priorities have changed dramatically I too still look at the drooping on my chemo weathered face and get sad. I remind myself that my body is still amazing and strong. I was given 9 months to live and I have just passed the 1 yr anniversary. Things to be grateful for are endless ❤ Celebrate yourself because you are amazing.

Anis please do not overthink this issue. You still look beautiful. Everyday I see so many women around me who are very unattractive and obese...and they are very young. Your eloquence in expressing your inner feelings shows intelligence and wisdom. If its any consolation...we are all going down the same road.
