Marina and Gwendal are my all time favourite ice dance couple next to Torvill and Dean. They were innovative and different from all the couples that competed with them in their times and they created moves that were completely new and they were so passionate, romantic, intense and emotional. Like what Dick button said It's like they skated for each other. They just had that something extra special when they skated together. Still watch their performances of R&J, Man in the Iron mask, Carmina Burana, Beethoven last night Masquerade Waltz OD, Flamenco OD, Jive OD and their Time to say goodbye, Danse mon Esmeralda and Suzanne and honestly they still all are masterpieces. Haven't seen a couple who were equally as balanced, complete and strong as them ever since.

You can’t argue with this. It’s one of the best original dances ever, certainly one of the best done to a Latin rhythm, right up there with Torvill and Dean’s rumba and Grisham and Platov’s tango. It’s marvelous

The chemistry between this two always has been famous. The best flamenco I have ever seen in ice dancing, this is a "true" flamenco.

La mejor pareja de danza sobre hielo de la historia (para mi gusto claro)... Para preparar este programa de flamenco,se vinieron a España durante unos 3 meses para preparar los movimientos,visitando los mejores tablaos,asi como visionando a los mejores artistas. Solo he visto una pareja que lo hagan bien,los actuales campeones Olimpicos de 2010. Pero esta pareja han sido los mejores siempre...

My all time favourite couple. Although my favourite dances from them are "Susanna" and "Time to say goodbye", this one is also great. Like the presenter said, "they don't just skate the programme, they live it". So true, I haven't yet seen a couple that can come close. Let me know if anyone does!

this dance is legendary! so memorable and worthy of an olympic performance. they really worked hard to come up with a strong OD after having a slump on ODs for two straight seasons. and to their edge, this kind of dance has always been their forte. i even prefer this to their FD. ;)

@TheEwita Tessa & Scott's flamenco, this routine, Torvill & Dean's Paso Doble, Rhumba and Rock 'n' Roll and Grichuk & Platov's Argentine Tango are the best orginal dances over the years.... simply gorgeous

That skirt is hazardous enough for Marina, but maybe more so for Gwendal. All that close partner skating, it would be so easy to misstep and trip right on that skirt. Serious skills.

I was born the South of Spain, Seville where Flamenco comes from, and in fact where the singers of the song come from too, and this was very genuine, I could see a lot of original flamenco moves there! Beautiful! How did they do at these particular Olympics?

i really miss them on the amateur circuit, but in some ways, im also glad they have retired after the 02 OG. they retired on the top, and they saved themselves from injuries. with the change in the judging system, they would've had to work harder to keep on top of the game, leading to higher risk for injuries.

Unlike Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir in their flamenco were superb in technique and interpretation. Both individually and as a couple. The final hug clearly shows this. It makes me shudder to this day. What a wonderful complicity, I would not know if love or friendship, doesn't matter, but between them there is something that goes beyond the track and when they skate this thing comes out strongly. I saw it clearly last March during the Worlds Championship in Nice

It 's one thing I've noticed too. The program is amazing, no doubt. The execution is almost perfect. But you can seen from a mile off that these two didn't put up each other. There isn't s a true emotional tension between them but just a really good interpretation. But no complicity, no feeling as a couple. Both are great skaters, both were perfect, but each to their own.

well......they never claimed to be a true couple. In contrary, they always said, that they have totally different character and very little in common (beside ice skating)

@Trulyloyale Err no... even without the bribery allegations Fuar-Poli/Margaglio lost any chance of Gold with poor performances and a really dodgy FD. They were lucky to get Gold in 2001. Other couples were cheated, but not the Italians in 2001/02
