Ok so I grew up catholic and I didn’t listen to gospel music until a couple years ago. Ever since, my life has changed for the better. Songs like this move me so profoundly that, even though I’m not a very religious person, I do believe in some sort of higher power. The ascension, the surrender, the release. Idk how else to explain it, all I know is when the choir takes it up a notch, it hits me in every fiber of my body. Pure bliss. Thank you gospel, for helping me believe in a higher power that I never connected with in the Catholic church.
