Don't miss Rashmi's session on Childcare and Education in Denmark on the International Citizen Day in Copenhagen, taking place on 23rd September 2023. It's a must if you are new in Copenhagen and want to know more in detail about the kindergarten and school in Denmark. Link - icdays.kk.dk/programme/childcare-and-education-in-denmark

Hi Kriti..... I have been following your you tube channel from the last 2 months. We are currently living in Norway and will be moving to Copenhagen in August and this video was very helpful for me in many ways as my daughter speaks Norwegian so I got better recommendations from this video with the help of Rashmi to choose right spot for my daughter. Thanks and hope to see you in Copenhagen soon😊

Hi Kriti, I have started watching you're videos recently and find it very helpful. One thing I want to ask - Is education in international schools (English schools) free for children? or is there any payment involved.
@KritiPrajapati

Hi, European School Copenhagen is the only public international school in Copenhagen where its free of charge, but limited places are available. You can read more about international school in Copenhagen at international.kk.dk/live/childcare-and-school/going-to-school/international-schools-in-copenhagen

Govt. schools are free for residents, though there are some trips and stuff you need to pay for, but it is subsidised still. Private schools, vary wildly in price, but you do get the cost of your kid in a normal school covered, so you need to ask each specfic school what you'd need to pay.

Hi we are planning to move in 2025 to Denmark. My child is 17 years by then. What about schooling?
@vrenak
@vrenak 6 ай бұрын
It depends on what level of education they already have, and their skills, at 17 they would probably be recommended to begin one of the "gymnasiale" schools, so secondary school, where we go after 9th grade, there are multiple different tracks, varying from the more general, mostly for university bound, to specialised trade schools. After primary school the education system isn't a straight path in Denmark, but branches out to many tracks, that also reconnect later on, while other tracks branches into "dead ends" (not to be confused with dead end jobs), it just means that if you want to switch you will need to go back quite a bit to start anew on a different track.

Hi Kriti… I am struggling to place my daughter in internationalschools. Most of the international schools are full and want us to put in waitlist pool. Do you have any plan on how to get the admission in international schools?

On paper yes, but unless you're a qualified teacher you will not be able to meet the requirements to teach all the things required, your child(ren) will also need to pass all the different subjects exams, rather than a random subset. Your child may also be tested every year to see if you have covered everything to at least standard. If your teaching is not at least on par with the regular schools you will have 3 months to rectify the situation, and if you haven't caught up, your child will have to attend a proper school. in reality this means you need at least a bachelor degree in: Danish, English, German of French, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Religion, PE, Arts, Sociology, Political Science. While all these are not an on paper requirement, it's just reality because you won't be able to teach your child these subjects to a high enough standard to not be forced to go to a proper school.

Hi we are from india we are planning to move to copenhagem. My daughter is currently in her 8th cbse, plans to do medicine. Do you suggest its a good idea if we put her in school there now
@vrenak
@vrenak 6 ай бұрын
If she wants to study medicine, she needs to complete primary school first, holding her back one year could be good, to allow her to settle in to a new country, culture, and school system, but it depends on so many factors, after primary she should head to STX or HF, STX is 3 years but will broaden her base a bit more, and give her time, HF is more intense and could be a little stressful for her, from there she will head to university, medicine requires quite good grades to get in, so she needs very good exam results, hence why it is good to give her some extra time to settle in. She can also take a few years off after secondary to work, travel, volunteer work, side education to accrue points for qouta 2 application for entrance.
