Bonda kau Cantik Yes, I agree, though you have to give Hingis some credit in the sense that Graf was injured for much of 1997 and the power players hadn’t fully emerged yet, so Hingis took full advantage of the very small (and short-lasting) window that existed at that time. I, unlike others, don’t consider Hingis one of the greatest and I doubt she would have won three Grand Slams in 1997 had it not been for the general circumstances at that time. Hingis was good, but not great and certainly not a 3-slam per season player.

1997 should have been another banner year for Graf. Hingis got very lucky with her career imo.

And also Jana had a damaged stomach muscle she picked up against Arantxa. How she made that final even competitive was remarkable given how much that sort of injury effects your serve and anything that requires a lunge.

Calicokit101 Yes it’s hard to believe and good for her. I think that if Graf were not injured for much of 1997 she could have won two Slams (French and Wimbledon)
