Anker Portable Power Station Showdown: C800 Plus vs C1000

It would be great if Anker made the C1000 have options like the C800. The base model could have the compartment for storing the charging cables. The C1000 plus could come with the lights that are on the C800. That would put the C1000 over the top. I do not think they should do that for all the models, but the models that are small enough to be used for camping. Solar panels work better when they are cooled off. If it is warm out, try using a little water to cool the panel off. I saw a cideo where someone did that to Anker panels (panel must be water resistant) , and the wattage increased when the panels were sprayed by a garden hose.

The light option is useful, but I'm not sure if it's worth losing out on the extra capacity. I'd be using it for potential power outages, so I feel like that extra power might be more useful in that kind of scenario. I'm still torn though

I agree. I went with the C1000 for the extra power. I have enough lights from camping.

@rob_cd likewise. Just got my C1000 last week. Glad I did. Already have plenty of camp lights as well

Im on the exact same boat! I'd probably go with the 800 but since they are basically the same size , it's hard to pass on the c1000

Do these these have passthrough capability? I wanna use these for backing up a sump pump if power goes out? Will they turn on if power goes out?

Yes these have a built in UPS function as well as passthrough even under load. Both should definitely be able to power an average sump pump as the C800 is is 13.4 amps 1600 watts120v max with 10 running amps or 1200 watts. Average sump pump requires 15 to 20 amps but they almost never actually use that many amps during start up or running . I would still check how many amps your sump pump requires however.
