I got the anker powercore 10,000 open without cutting, just prying with fine and coarse flat heads. No glue. Same design, but with 3 cells instead of 4. Trying to fix a broken usb port and I must have managed to short the cells. Somehow managed to burn myself quite badly, considering how brief it was. Those cells pack a punch! Anyways, thanks for the video, and use a non-conductive tool if you're trying to bend the usb pins back into place.

Thanks for the video. I just disassembled mine. The case wasn't glued, just some really good clips. My unit is from 2016 and the batteries in it were NCR18650B. I tested the batteries and 3 were shot but 1 still has good capacity. Too bad Anker doesn't make these to be more easily opened and with user replaceable batteries. I saved the BMS board and thinking about just making my own 4 cell replacement pack and using it as a UPS for one of my Raspberry Pi's.

For anyone attempting this, you can easily disassemble the case without damaging it using plastic auto trim removal tools. I did it on this very unit with no damage. Those tools are made specifically for jobs like this.

In the exploded picture below, you can see the case snaps together tightly. If you cut a tiny notch in the seam in one corner (big enough to insert the tip a plastic auto trim tool on the opposite from the on/off button), you can wedge the tool along in the corner along the seam, and slowly pop the top off of the case. images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71DDbvHrYZL.jpg

It would have been nice to show a close-up of the 18650 model numbers so we know what batteries they use in it. The whole point of a teardown is to see what components are inside.

I can see the part number quite clearly in the video, what resolution are you watching it at? They are LGGBF1L1965 which are these: secondlifestorage.com/index.php?threads/lg-lggbf1l1865-cell-specifications.8572/ Rated at 3350mAh

Hello Rob, I do not have a user manual for this devise, but can you please tell us a bit more about charging the power bank? Do you have to charge the PB the same as a cellphone battery? 80% 10% 2. What Iff you forget to disconnect the PB when it is already 100% charged? Thanks for a short response.
@cannikinn Жыл бұрын
Hello, it is a lithium-ion battery, so charging it to 80% would probably be preferable, but there's no reliable way to tell when it's 80%. I think most people just charge these fully and then just replace them if/when they eventually start losing too much life (which would be after hundreds of full charge cycles). You can leave the charging cable connected past 100%, it disables charging internally.

Where can we get its circuit board ?
@cannikinn3 жыл бұрын
I don't think they sell this model any longer, but as far as I know the electronics are proprietary to their devices, so you'd have to buy one and take it apart to get any of those boards.
