Oxycodone is horrible. They gave me one dose when I broke my ankle. I got a dry mouth (drank so much water!) then I got the sweats then I vomited! Nasty! I am at the 12 week mark, weight bearing in a boot. Hoping to start physio next week.

Yes, I didn’t like them because they didn’t work at all I was in so much pain after the surgery. I guess it was because they gave me such a low dosage. But I personally don’t recommend taking them for a long period of time.

It’s been helpful. How did you increase weight on your ankle when weight bearing? I’m trying to increase weight so I can eventually let go of the crutches and eventually get into some shoes. Any advice will help💜 I appreciate you sharing your journey.

I really took it one day at a time so before I actually went to get my ankle brace I practiced walking to the bathroom slowly and also I would try to stand holding on to the bathroom vanity to add a little weight until I was able to stand fully. I hope that helps always go at your own pace until you feel comfortable. But I appreciate your comment and thanks for watching the video. And you’re welcome I hope Journey helps you on your healing journey as well 🤗

Thank you so much for your reply. I have been trying to stand on my own in the boot to add weight and it’s helping. I am just taking it one day at a time. God knew I needed to slow down and get rest. It’s not the way I wanted to do it but God knows best. I’m trying to get there slowly but surely. I at least want to be able to walk without assistive devices before I return to work since I have to lift and walk at the same time and I have lots of walking. Thanks for sharing it really is helpful💜

@@neeceluvsinspiration1329 I felt the same way I was doing to much and needed to slow down and GOD used that moment to make me take a break. But you will be back on your feet before you know it, and it will give you a greater appreciation for walking again.

@lifewithshaun thanks for the reply! I read so many different opinion/instructions on the matter! 😅 I am getting a walking boot in a little over a week. I just want to be able to climb the stairs (more safely) and sleep in my bed again! Ha!
