I think that's why Ann and Leslie work so well together as friends. Ann is the normal one who gets excited at times when you expect whereas Leslie is so energetic about everything because she loves everything she does. It's a perfect contrast.

@@BlackDiamond2718 Hahahaha that reminds me of the time when Ann said "Never send a husband to do a best friend's job" or something like that. Ann was the responsible big sister taking care of everybody. Ann and Leslie’s relationship was good as they supported each other 100% and they don’t mind calling each other other out when needed it’s positive to see a relationship/friendship where they’re not backstabbing and being cruel. If even seen people say the reason why Leslie was a bit all over the place in season 1 but then was hyper competent from season 2 onwards as she’d lost her friend Lindsay who betrayed her telling her no to take the Eagleton job to then go after it when Leslie turned them down, and having the support of Ann she was happy to be herself again.
@islembb8899

In season one, we saw her through the eyes of Mark, who thought she was a loser. In season two and onwards, we see her through the eyes of Ann, who thinks she's amazing. That's why Leslie's character seems to change so much
@willgroody5296
@willgroody5296 Жыл бұрын
@@islembb8899 I always though maybe Lindsay’s betrayal shook her confidence in herself if she couldn’t trust her own judgement on best friend she couldn’t trust her judgments in anything, then having Ann bolstering her especially when she stood up and bolstered her when Lindsay resurfaced. Saying Lindsay was trying to wind her up because she’s never been able to get over the fact she only got the Eagleton job as Leslie wouldn’t take it.

Ann is meant to be the "relatable" character in the story. Sharp and rational, but warm, humble and a little clumsy. I often feel like the actor exaggerates the character. She is such a perfect looking human herself, which is not a relatable feature, so she overcompensates for it with her acting. This makes Ann a character saturated with a lot of emotionality and humility. What may be seen as wrong casting is surprisingly awesome. She was basically the main character.
