We adopted a teenager from foster care this summer. If you are thinking about it, stop thinking and start doing. It has been the greatest experience of our lives! We plan on doing it again real soon. We just want to give our new son some time to relax ad enjoy some time he really deserves.

this is a sweet story, most the time you hear really bad stories so its nice to hear about a girl who had a positive experience after being put in the foster care system.

+Kay W I understand what you mean. And yeah, you have to be able to prove that you can financially support yourself. However, money is something everyone wants more of. You could be the richest person in the world, but you would still want more. And unfortunately a lot of people do this for money...not because they need it, but because they want more than they already have. Hopefully that will change. I'd like to become a foster parent

im worried about my friend's daughter, she's in foster care and the fc has hit her but the police and social services aren't doing anything about it

Did she have a mark or was there anyone who saw it and would be willing to speak for her? Try to get hard evidence and take it straight to the police. SS are useless tbh. Take her out during the day as much as possible for now and tell her if anything inappropriate is said to her try to discreetly record it. Hope she's okay and you get the carer caught. Disgusting! :(

At least she had a better life after being put in foster care. Alot of children that are put in foster care, get treated poorly by their foster parents. they don't give them food,momey,or let them hang out with friends or be happy. It seems like Ann was alot happier. I am glad to see that happening. Her real Mother doesn't have the right to throw things at her own children or hit them. I hope her mother was locked up in jail for that because, that is illegal.
@sylviafoo4123

Even if it is not illegal, her real mom still don't have the right to hurt her children like that.

@notmyname74
@notmyname74 7 жыл бұрын
Sylvia Foo many checks are performed on foster careers before they are given the child. They have to run safety checks, background, work place, house, birth children. Everything! So normally the foster carer is a nice person/people who just want to give the child a better future. (Me and my mum are considering fostering)

Destinee Delagarza They don't send their kids to foster care. They get them taken away but it isn't for bad reasons all the time. Sometimes if a parent gets seriously hurt and there arnt any family members to watch over them or if parents are homeless and have kids with no where to go they lose their kids once someone finds out and they don't get them back until they have a home and a job that can support them

One of my foster homes when I was in care would put a lock on the fridge, and their bio daughter knew the combo but me and their other placement didn't, and weren't allowed too. But it was still better than what was going on at home at the time.

This vidio is saying that foster care is good. It is I think its a great thing but not always. One of our faimly freinds from church had one kid and they were fostering 2 others there kid was 8 and the fpster kids were about 7 and 1 I used to watch them at church and say hi to them every day. The parents were great people and really wanted to adopt them. But yesterday, someone, with out calling pulled the 7 year old girl out of school, picked up the little boy from day care to meet another faimly. The mom got a call later explaning what had happened and all she could do was cry. She dint even get to say good bye to these kids they had loved for a ehole year!! This made me what to cry and I was very sad that I will never get to see Jasmin and Cory ever again.

+abby@IDI That IS foster care. Foster care is not permanent and not supposed to be. If you can't deal with that, you should think twice about signing up for it. I do feel for your friend, but it is a part of the job she has agreed to do. There is no way around that. It sucks for everyone, but that's a part of what it is.

Flower, When that is foster care in your country, than it is about the worst system in the world. What cruel non-sense to behave like this towards foster children and foster families. Believe me, in many countries around the world it is a whole lot better. You have different kinds of foster care, like just during the day, or just for every other weekend. But also for a short time, to try to sort things out within the birth family. Or long term, where even foster parents have the right to keep fostering the child, once it has been in their care for over two years. People are usually matched to each other and given time to get to know each other, if such a time is available. Normally nobody just snatches any child away from a foster family. There are sadly a few workers, who are stupid and mean and make the same hurtful mistakes as were made in this video. But luckily those truly are exceptions.

I've been foster care since 2016 so for almost 4 yrs I've been moved twice but finally I think I found the family for me and I love them so much its been a long and little bit of a bumpy ride but I have worked past my past trauma and I owe it all to my foster parent and I'm 14 now and I'm a teenager and they still love me I thought no one would ever want a teenager ideas abused both physically and mentally as a child there were drugs always in my house and I was barely ever feed before I was placed in foster care I may not be adopted yet but at least know I know I'm safe and now I feel loved by my soon to be adopted parents plus now I know my brothers are safe and not going to get ahold of something that could hurt them. Sincerely,karissa

+Caroline Lackey (Zena Warrior princess) There are many sides to foster care just as there are many sides to family life. I was never in foster care and my life was pretty crappy. But overall, foster children are at higher risks for a multitude of bad things, and I would advise you to keep that in mind when saying such things. Under videos like this, you are pretty much guaranteed to find foster children, former or current, and who will read what you write differently than other people because they have experienced the foster system.

Camrin Buse Good foster parents give up their heart and homes for. children to have a better life People always talking about the money, get over it and take in a child for free then if you see fit, ridiculous! To provide for a child cost money, in Canada, a foster parent gets 30.00 per day , 24 hours per day Daycare is 30.00 to 40.00 per day for a 8-9 hour day
