Nice to see you using a tracing wheel and marking transfer paper. I'm from the old school of sewing. I still mark using this method. It is not used so much anymore. Love the pants by the way. They look great! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Emily, Yes please!.... More of these types of videos! I have just purchased this pattern and my fabric arrived this morning. I'm an advanced beginner so this will definitely challenge me. I've gone for the zipper fly expansion pack..... fingers crossed that I can work it out. Do you have any advice for sewing through lots of layers without jamming your machine? I'm off to check out your other videos. Thanks again for making this one :)

How many oz. is this canvas fabric? do you have tips for sewing with canvas fabric? hana
@EmilyLightly3 жыл бұрын
The fabric I used was hemp organic cotton canvas 270 gsm / 8 oz/yard2. So it wasn’t super heavy, the pattern probably works better for a heavier fabric like 10oz maybe. As for tips, using a denim sewing needle and a heavy duty machine helps a lot! And for certain areas where there are a lot of fabric layers (like the belt loops) sometimes I had to hand crank the wheel a few times.

Did you know that staples can print with architecture sized paper?! It's not actually called that but they will know what you mean if you call and ask. It costs about $20 but SO worth it not to have to cut and tape xx

If you're already printing at staples, you can get them printed on one big piece.. more $$ though :P This is an awesome video, thanks so much!!!

I was thinking the same thing - print on large paper. Or look for print shop that does engineering blueprints; they can print AO sewing patterns. That is what I do, and my local shop only charges $3 per page. Most patterns are just 2 pages, and I can pick up same day most times. Reasonable I think rather than piecing together all those smaller sheets.

You aid your cost was close to 100. Can you break that down? I guess I am surprised 2 yards of fabric and a pattern would be so much.
