@@Parabelum-u5x The US president literally cannot do a deal, he can only do it with Ukraine as a co-operator. That's literally how it works defacto and in reality. The reason is that the US military and Nato's military have not shown any cards insofar as their true capabilities. So, it IS time to show some cards, i.e strut, show the intentions to truly defend Ukr militarily IF that is physically possible. I'm an american. Game-theory and behavioral-systems is the ultimate limit. We either shit or get off the pot. Done.

Anna has an amazing way of bringing out the true essence of this God forsaken war. Pootler is madman with a gun in a crowed room. Some people will try to appease the madman and hopefully spare their own life others will quietly wait and see what happens. And others will face the madman and take their chances. Now everyone in room knows exactly what is happening, yet will stand and watch someone get shot. They tell themselves, "its only in the leg" then " its just an arm". Blocking out the fact that there's pain and blood as the result. Everyone knew Pootler is a war mongering lunatic but didn't do anything to "upset" him. And didn't do anything to improve their own military either. And now here we are. And what truly amazes me is, people are actually "upset" with Ukraine? They have been the one's between the madman and the crowd. Now the madman has a friend and still everyone just remains still and silent. For Christmas they had incoming missiles. And today we heard a Ukrainian woman in a foreign language speaking eloquently about this situation. So are we "upset" with Ukraine or our own shame? But then again, we aren't one with the bullet holes in us. Wonder what would happen if the world leaders got together and told pootler, enough. Or remain in the crowd silent.

this IS essentially correct, at last insofar as many of the western nations and nonwestern nations stances and perceptions. It IS time, high-time, to take decisive action, including up to physical force including possibly a western coalition -of-the-willing to aid Ukr directly in a combined arms (aka normal) attack against Ru positions in the south of Ukraine, bcuz the only future Ukr possible includes an entirely 100% secured ports area in the SE, i.e the river ports system there. This is universally known by all the shippers, all the finance entities that deal in exports of ag products from UKR which IS Ukr's entire economy for the next 3-10 years as they grow a more dynamic complex economy. There truly are NO alternatives to securing the south. So wtf are we waiting for? Biden, or possibly DJT (but dn't count on him to take decisive action, bcuz he has always shown deflection and indecision when his image of himself is threatened, which it IS when an actually strong-man is up against him!!!, trust us middle aged guys, we know!). So biden has an historic opportunity. Unfortunately this action may not be possible now and might be a year away or even four years away after a possible 4 year ceasefire, but imho, NOW is the right time. (ppl like me have studied a lot about history, the military, behavioral sci's, and other realms that tie-in. It does feel early, BUT that's part of why it's the right moment: Ru gives big indications of being very weakened and vulnerable now, though i'm open to counter-argument attempts re that).

Anna is doing a fantastic job and the fact that she can just bear it shows that all of us outside can be proud of her participation in this. It is BOTH a local conflict (based on the greed and megalomaniacal ambitions of one man) AND a philosophical or ideological battle (democracy vs tyranny). It is not “metaphysical”. This is more grandiose hyperbole from someone who is prone to it. There is nothing wrong with being real about it. It doesn’t hurt the cause. true on the main points; not actually true that only one man's ambitions caused this unprecedented anachronistic invasion: PooTin and what is called the Siloviki (it's a small group of power elites who control and/or own/have-rights-over everything that happens in Ru) and the elites within the 1M-personnel of the vast security services (which include intell services) that are the only reason USSR ever was strong or stable in the first place from 1920's onward. This is the same country as then, the same types and even families are controlling this. It is NOT one man. When I hear criticism of our support of Ukraine based on COST, I am frustrated. That is because we-the United States-have ten times(10X) the economy of Russia and we have ten times(10X) the defense budget. Our cost as a percent of GDP is small. If some find our cost "disturbing", then for a moment consider the cost to Putin and Russia. We are but one country in NATO and among our allies. Together with our partners, we are hugely stronger economically and militarily than Russia. Given that fact, LET IT BE PUTIN AND RUSSIA to face the fact that the cost of THEIR aggression is TOO MUCH! yes! Actually the best way to measure it is not the US economy size, but all the allies combined, which is vast vs Ru's economy which itself is dramatically overstated. The other factor is actual military capabilties which Ru simply does not now have anything remotely close to the allies combined abilities. When timids among us hear that they fear Ru using nukes, but Ru will never use a nuke bcuz it doesn't even have the ability the USSR had to fight/operate after a nuke hit on their enemies, let alone on them. More importantly the russians who actually engage the WMD's are not suicidal even slightly, and they've been directly warned by the US that they will be conventinoally hammered (lose their lives and their own conventional-everything/equipment/locations (EVERYTHING) if they triggera single WMD. Austin made that clear to his counterpart a couple times in the past two years. Ru is not gonna FA and FO (fk around and find out). Ru has nothing and is nothing, at this time.
