Anna (Go to Him) was recorder on February 11, 1963, And is an original song by Arthur Alexander. They recorded it during the marathon, single-day session for the Please Please Me album. It’s the third song on the album, which, to me, really kicks off much of the album’s sound, with the distinct presence of their J-160e guitars-Lennon's slightly lower in volume and blending into the vocal mic, and George playing the iconic riff of the song, alternating between fingerpicking and using just the pick for the chords.
If you notice that the video doesn’t quite match the sound of the rhythm guitar, it’s because the audio was taken from a different take than the video. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize that I hadn’t recorded that take on camera:(. So, I decided to do another one, but in the end, I think the first take I recorded ended up sounding better and more accurate. Even with that, I hope you enjoy the video! (I promise to be more careful about that from now on haha!)
I titled it 'Remake' because I uploaded this song 2 years ago with my Gretsch Pro Jet when I started my channel. I had made that video private out of embarrassment hahaha, but now I'm making it public to show the difference:)

After all these years, I had no idea George was playing an acoustic on this. What a stellar song. Nicely done, sir.

@@chrissavage1534 I always thought it was George in his Duo Jet but the moment I started recording, I realized right away it was the same sound from the song

George used his duo jet on this song. Just use a duo jet and play with bridge position with volume knob rolled down a bit on this song and you get same tone.

HI Duo Jet! Nice version! Congratulations. Can you please help me with one thing: I also have the Epiphone EJ160E John Lennon signature and it sound very well when I play it as an acoustic guitar, but I always have problems when I have to plug it, the output is very low and it doesnt make justice to the guitar sound. What type of strings do you use to have a good output and sound? Do you still use the original pickup or you had to change it? Shoud I use a direct box between the plug and the amp? I hope you can give me some advice... I would appreciate that. Thanks and Keep the good work!

@@TheMiguellopez75 Hey man, that’s rough. Honestly, I haven’t had mine for very long and haven’t run into that kind of problem. My problem is more with a grounding issue from the input jack. But going back to your problem, I think it might be a factory defect. I’ve played other EJ160s, and they also seem to have trouble reaching the full volume they should. You could try adjusting the pickup with the screws on the sides. If that doesn’t work, it might be a wiring problem (hopefully not a problem with the pickup itself). I didn’t have to change the pickup or anything like that and haven’t had the problem you’re mentioning. As for strings, I put D'Addario acoustic 9s strings on mine (though honestly, I’d recommend a thicker gauge since it feels like the guitar lacks resonance, which affects the sound)

@juodet thank you fot your answer DuoJet. I'll try by adjusting the pickup pole pieces, because they are all flat and screwed all the way down and, in my guitar at least, the side screws doesnt affect the pickup height.
