Any self-healing mat will work. I find them to size on Ebay, so no need to cut. Inexpensive but from China. I've been using my current one for over a year now. It is just starting to buckle from the pressure of the Gemini.

I hear what you are saying about intellectual property ethically and legally and certainly respect your feelings. I have created projects and taught classes and found that clubs often paid for one member to take the class and then return to the club to teach it. I've even seen people subtly take apart items on craft sales tables to figure out the construction only to later sell a version themselves. I do, however, want to point out that with craft designs once something has been made and seen by another, someone will deconstruct it and figure out how to make it. The rocker card has been around for at least 2 years that I know of-AG just happened to design a die for it. I would say the same about the room, shutter, and exploding cards (CC made a die for that) as I remember making them in my youth. The room cards, from my memory, were Hallmark designs. My grandmother made it a tradition to purchase one for each of her granddaughters every year for Christmas when we were young. I don't know if Hallmark stopped selling them or Grandma determined we had outgrown them. The dies are a convenience as they take the guesswork out of measuring and incorporate the exactness of the cutting. And, if you purchase from multiple companies you will notice similarities in their designs. I appreciate that companies are coming out with dies that make it easier for us to do what we love.
