After my Dad passed away I found reel to reel tapes he had recorded of himself on piano. This was one track, and I am so pleased to find this and remember how I heard it through my childhood.

In this new recording of the Master's Consolations, we can see, hear and enjoy Anna in full strength: how she tries to play, with her heart, her soul and her whole body, what the Master once meant. We see her totally immersed in the wonderful yet delicate and hard struggle with the core of His music: the expression of and the longing for deep 'consolation' of a human being after the blows of life... Yes, this is the 'other' side of Franz Liszt. And, yes, this Anna is a magnificent artist !

These pianists don't appear from their facial expressions, to be actually enjoying their playing. Watch a George Shearing video, and you will see him smiling, although he's blind.

Would "Consolation" be a smiling sort of piece? Just food for thought. I'll check out Shearing though!

You obviously don't watch sport,or art at any interesting level:try tennis, ski, formula 1,or chess or sculpture.... just look at those constant grins!Maybe something else escaped you;classic is about a greater idea than oneself, either as creator or interpreter, jazz is about "me"(watch what I can do... man!).Stick with your ideal, Liberace;that's something you understand.
