This is such a bittersweet song for me. Thank you, Kevin. I played this and a few other of his songs at my husband's Celebration of Life in 2001. I saw Kevin a few months later in OKC at the Blue Door and shared that. He hugged me and said he appreciated that. Nice guy.

Personally, imo the record companies do not give a flip about talented artists. Look at the music of today. Its pathetic overall. Of course a few people with actual talent does come along its just so rare. Even then. For example look at the Outlaw Country phenomenon. Originally they literally could not get a record made, well not hat they liked. Then Cash, Waylon, Kristofferson, Willie, ext started producing their own music and the rest is history. Imagine someone not as well known trying such a venture. The fans of good music are out there. BTW: I love all types of music. But I am somewhat of a music snob obviously. Have a nice day/night.

I really have loved this song for so many years. Super-kudos to Kevin and his songwriting ability. But.. the thing that really makes this tune what it is, emotionally, is Kieran's back-up music, IMO. It is just incredible and gives me goose-bumps. [In his own right, Kieran is one of the best musicians around -- in this genre, anyway. I liken him to a modern-day "Buddy Holly." Wish he would get more recognition.] [BTW, does anyone know what kind of instrument he is playing here? Looks like a "cross" between a banjo and guitar. Never seen -- or heard -- anything quite like it.]

Thanks. I have the rest of the concert on unedited digital video tape (multiple camera angles) Kind of a daunting project . .

One song that made me keep practicing the guita,r just so I could sing it. But I have to put my guitar up when I hear Kevin do it and just enjoy the show.

I'd classify Kevin and Kieran's music as more of a folk-songwriter-Americana genre with a Country influence. What sucks for me is the inability of many Americans, like zombiehunterjw to learn the simple rule, "I before E except after C" not to mention the lack of necessary apostrophes for punctuation. His contribution toward the destruction of the English language is disturbing but I'm afraid all too common. Sigh.
