Anna Snesar, Eugène Ysaÿe, Sonata No 3

I was very fortunate to have this opportunity to record Ysaÿe's Third Sonata for Solo Violin. This one and the Second Sonata are my favourites from all the Six Sonatas by Ysaÿe.
I am glad I could just record it, not for a competition or for commercial reasons, but free from the various external pressures that the 'world of classical music' sometimes places on us. Maybe this interpretation is not 'how it should be' 🤷‍♀️ but I don't really care🙈. In the classical world sometimes there are too many expectations and standards, but there is not enough emphasis on the performer's own creative voice.
Beyond skills and knowledge, I love this music and enjoy playing it, and I feel I understand what the composer was trying to say. I hope that comes across when you listen to my recording!
