Anna University is an open ground. I used to live by the side of its campus. The walls of the campus facing Sardar Patel Road was left broken and open in the 90s as well. One day my car was broke down, I jad to frive down inside the vampus to safely park and get it fixed. There are 10s of buildings isolated with proper tar roads and huge yrees and bushes around everywhere. Looks good in day time but scary at night like a ghost town. Open for public access all the time from other sides. Main entrance looks protected with barricades and police

I was a student of this college in the 1980s. This college campus is very huge. I don't even remember if there was a compound wall all around. The main entrance was from Sardar Patel road . There was a GEMS school on the Kotturpuram side and it had its entry from the Kotturpuram road. in the 200s, I have driven into the campus from both the main entrance as well as the Kotturpuram side entrance. Nobody ever stopped or questioned me. All these gates were always fully open. There used to be all sorts of people of all ages entering and exiting the University campus. The staff in the college are either teaching staff or administrative staff. So, for the reporter to ask for action to be taken against the university officials (for a repeat offender gaining access to the premises) is completely "shooting up the wrong tree". If there are lapses / laxity in the actions of the PoSH committee then I agree , most severe action should be taken against the University officials. If the reporter was really brave he should have asked the Minister to explain the connection between the accused and the ruling party. Also now that the person has been arrested, why hasn't the party expelled him? Common public need answers for these questions. Action against University officials will not solve the problem. Legal action / punishment against the criminal who did this heinous act will solve it.
