I felt this to true. Once a I dated a girl and things didnt work out but yet I was her friend afterwards. one night I woke up to a phone call from her at 2 am crying how she was scared and alone at this house party gone wrong and was pleading for my help, I got changed and ready and drove there. It was wild, fights, drunk people and a bunch of bad vibes. She had looked relieved although I was hyper-alert and on edge. Her friend wouldn't leave the party and she didnt wants to leave her alone. So I stayed up until 7 am with her until she finally decided to quit on her friend. The car ride back to her house she cried and was apologizing for what she had put me thoruhg I told her not to worry. All in all we are strangers now, Ive been through a lot with girls and I always feel good knowing I did my best and never had bad intentions. Although she didn't even betray me like the most recent one I dated. But now Im more alone and starting to feel better of alone. I've always like Initail D, and not to mention I have FR-S/86 as my car atm. A lesson here is just be yourself and the only relationship that matters the most in your life is the relationship with yourself, since that's who you're stuck with the rest of your life. I don't necessarily understand the hate on Mogi. She changed her ways and definitely wanted to prove it to Takumi. She even ended the relationship with the Mercedes guy before Takumi had found out. Takumi chose Project D over going to Tokyo with her, seemed pretty mutual to me.

The thing i don't understand is why can't he do both things. Why can't he be in Project D, and be with her girlfriend in his free time? (whether going to Tokyo or having her going to where he was at the moment); like any driver do or any person in general in his circunstances do (people who go to the university, those who go to the work outside of the country, those who go to the sea for weeks...). Even in the manga, she said to him that she would return in 6 months and asks that he doesn't get another girlfriend in the meantime. But it seems like, only a few pages later, the author completely forgot about that. It's a shame. Like i said, i don't understand why Takumi and Mogi couldn't be together after the Third Stage. For me, it doesn't make sense at all.
