Looks like Encyclia Rioclarense! Beautiful work! I didn't realize I stumbled into this technique a while back working on colorful galaxy paintings. Happy to finally put a name to the practice. :)

They look like laeila purpurata but I've only seen them in white. I cannot get over how beautifully you did the long petals. In most cases, they could end up muddy but they seem to be the highlight of your flowers ❤
@AnnaBucciarelli9 ай бұрын
Thank you - I feel like if I used anything other than DS Perylene Violet it wouldn't have worked and would end up muddy.... but this color is on my top 10 list since I started painting:))) I have no idea how they made it transparent while also incredibly rich and juicy, and it blends with Magenta so easily. I am dedicating an entire page spread to this pigment in my upcoming book!

As a new subscriber, I've watched several of your videos, recently. Each one has a gold nugget. Thank you so much for sharing the specifics on this technique & for reading my mind about the difference between wet in wet & charging!😂 Congratulations, Anna, on making Jenna Rainey's best KZbin artists list. So beautiful and very beautiful Amazing Awesome I love your work your painting
Outstanding explanation, diction, photography and talent! An excellent book on this technique (which I need to read again!) is "Daring Color" by Anne Abgott. Anna, you are so skilled you hardly need any tips. BTW, You can Google photos for ID, but I know YT algorithms favor those creators whose viewers leave comments.

Thank you Joy! I tried googling but it gives a bunch of options, not all are the same...I think there is a botanical app out there that helps identify plants but I always double check with folks here:) Comments do help and are much appreciated - I have no idea why some of my videos do better than others {Oh the mysteries of the algorithm!} To be totally honest I am not a big fan of click bait-y titles so I struggle sometimes with how to present my work in a less boring way....but I am aware that engagement is one of those things that help channels grow :)

@@AnnaBucciarelli No reply necessary, as I just wanted to stress that your tutorials are fascinating - very far from boring! For my personal tastes, I avoid titles with "Secrets of", and other click baits, as the videos are ultimately disappointing.

I wish a recommendation for substituting Perylene violet could be given. It is hard to find right now and you include it with most of your tutorials on patreon.

Hi Cindy, I didn’t realize there were issues with this pigment. If you can’t find it in the local art store for some reason, you can order from Amazon - lots of options from Winsor& Newton to Daniel Smith 😊

Love the flower and your tutorial was great, but the blue stem looks really off.. Perhaps using the the green-gold and perylene violet would look more realistic? (yellow-green blending to brownish-green)

Hello Anna, I think that the flowers look wonderful as they are. This is probably one time where I would say that a changing background color would set off the plant rather than adding more to the painting which took me a lot of restraint. Adding in a blue grey into soft soft pinks to even a variety of the green yellow that is very soft glow with that continuing pattern but leaving the blues up higher would be mimicking a sort of sky since your branch cuts through it. If there was another pattern it could look busy maybe. It looks beautiful again!❤
