It is so much easier when using “ o “ (about), to phrase the question in English “ about what are you thinking “? as opposed to “ what are you thinking about” ? Because it should be automatic that after “ o” it’s all in the prepositional case.

Franca, very good! The only thing, I would say "Я думаю о своём лучшем друге" и "о своей лучшей подруге". In the second question, you would also ask "O какой подруге ты думаешь?" since she is a girl.

Hello Angie, it's difficult to recommend one particular book. I used to use "Русский язык в упражнениях" (Russian in exercises) by С. Хавронина и А. Широченская quite a lot. You may try to look for this one. However, it has a bit of the Soviet tinge to it :) I am going to start an online course on cases in a few weeks, actually. It will have plenty of exercises. I am going to make an announcement in a few days.

Anna, I watched this video today, October 1, 2019. I now have a pretty good understanding of prepositional phrases containing adjectives affected by either a masculine or by a feminine noun. But you gave no examples for the neuter noun nor the plural noun. I think they are different based on consulting my textbooks. But what about nouns in a prepositional phrase that lack any adjectives? I think they all end with the Russian 'e' -- no exceptions. Would I be correct? I know that substantivized adjectives remain as adjectives, declined as such.

Anna, please take your time. I know it is precious. Since yesterday, I found a few places where exceptions are discussed; that is to say, nouns in prepositional form with irregular endings. What if the word ends in 'e' in the nominative case, say 'кофе'. Does the word stay the same in the prepositional case or do you have to add another 'e'? In other words, do you say 'Я думаю о кофе' or 'Я думаю о кофее' (I'm thinking about coffee)?

Udar Pavarota you don't have to add another "E": я думаю о поле, я думаю о кофе, я думаю о платье, о здоровье. But! If a word has the ending ИЕ you have to change it into "ИИ": я думаю о телевиденИИ)/ I'm thinking about TV (телевидение --> о телевиденИИ) я думаю о заданИИ/ I'm thinking about the exercise (задание ---> озаданИИ)

"Про" also means 'about' but it's more colloquial than "о" and is used mostly in informal speech. "Про' is followed by the accusative case, not prepositional.
