Nobody in NK is allowed to say anything, and nobody there cares what they have seen. Even destroyed Ukrainian cities might be better than a typical NK village. Notice that they will NOT be in the front lines where they could surrender and escape to the west.

The US is still at war with North Korea. The hostilities in ‘53 ended with a cease-fire, not a peace treaty. Putin may have finally made the stupid mistake that the world was waiting for.

Sort of... NK is at war with the US. We stopped shooting at each other, but NK didn't stop building weapons for use against the US, which won't attack NK. I think we learned our lesson the first time around. It's not worth going to battle against 'communism.' It can't bleed.

North Korean has serious issues to take in mind. - Food is rather limited to say the least. This means their bodies are frail and their energy levels will likely also not be up to the task. - When they do come over, they will realize soon enough that they have been lied to. This will lead to people defecting, fleeing or taking the easy way out. - We seen how North Korean artillery shells are performing in the field. Don't expect anything else to work much better. - None of them have flown before most likely, this means they might get scared while airborne or be forced to use trains to start with. This mostly because they do not have any air transport at all. Now could russia or China fly them over? Possibly, but I wouldn't bet on it. It would be a wonder if China even lets them pass trough their country and russia is too busy. This might become a long walk for them if they even manage to get even remotely in the right direction.

Thanks, Anna! I have two biographies of General Patton, plus his address to his troops framed on my wall. He was historically correct about Russia, but there was no way Americans would continue to fight at the time. Additionally, I don't believe we are in WWIII, that would require a lot more nations sending troops to fight. We are in a contest of freedom versus tyranny, agrainst which Ukraine is the tip of the spear. I frequently write my politcal representatives, pleading with them to send aid to Ukraine more quickly. Anna, your face in the thumbnail made me laugh. I have seen pictures of North Korean soldiers next to South Korean soldiers at the 38th parallel. The South Koreans were at least a head taller. As you mention, the North Korean soldiers are malnourished. It will actually be interesting to see how they do in Ukraine. I wonder if they will surrender when they get the chance. I am sad that Ukraine has to be a testing ground for all this military equipment, mercenaries and now Russian allies, though. Now that Putin has opened up the Pandora's box of using official foreign troops, not just mercenaries, I fully agree with you that the west should flood in troops. A couple of US heavy mechanized corps with attendant weapons and aircover should do the trick. Heck, everyone who supports Ukraine should send troops. Don't forget, Russia has had to deplete their troops on the border with NATO to basically nothing. It would be good for the experience and for "training", on the job, so to speak. Even if the western troops did not engage the Russians they could free up Ukraine to use its whole army directly against the Russians. With western air cover making the whole of Ukraine and the border regions of Russia, a no-fly zone, I think this would all be over soon. Who knows, then we might see China move into eastern Russia. They would dearly like to take Manchuria back. After all, it was stollen from them by the czars they often point out.

South Korea should now, immediately, send military aid to Ukraine. Zelensky should also immediately set up a PR campaign directed at North Korea, inviting their soldiers to immediately surrender & defect to Ukrainians as soon as they arrive in Ukraine. North Korean soldiers stepping outside of Korea, would be like a child experience for the first time. Experiencing A world mixing with foreign troops might make some of these young men realise just how oppressed their existence is. Watching their mates being ground to meat, might make some of them change their hated about the world. Hopefully they will take their troubles back to North Korea and possibly start a revolution against the regime. I believe that the African soldiers fighting for Russia have regretted doing so. Also I think that their must be starting a realisation in Russia that so many of their men are simply not coming home. Putin's attempt to deny the high Russian death toll using other people's folks. I wouldn't be surprised that Putin hasn't told his own people that he's using foreign troops, so he can claim a total Russian victory.

At the beginning of WW2 the British at Singapore were told the Japanese were weak little myopic soldiers. They were soon disabused. I don't think NK will at first send their weakest troops or ones that may be of "unsound" doctrine. They may later empty their gulags into the front line.
