@@WJV9 It all started when the Romans forced the Latin alphabet on the English language. Then the British colonization spread the language around the world and now we have what we have, a mess. I guess there was nobody to manage it. Maybe we should go back to the Runic alphabet? At least it has letters for th or ng sounds. All this is a good example of why Anna argues that the Ukrainian language should always be Cyrillic. They have a letter for every sound. But in English we end up with a word that has a sound and no letter for it all.

Some members of NATO block the Ukraine's entrance into that organization. In such a case then Ukraine should join the Visegrad group along with Romania and the three Baltic states, to create a block of some 130 million dedicated to a mutual economic support and combined defense against a Russia which will after a rest period of 15 years or so, may try to expand with Imperial designs. The reason I suggest this is because those NATO nations laying to the far west of Europe show a reduced concern for events that occur along the very eastern borders. For example Italy is far more interested in the illegal migrants crossing the Mediterranean into their territory. An unfortunate but accurate appraisal of human nature. But a solid block of Visegrad of 130 million would be a nut that Russia could not crack. Ukraine could rebuild in relative safety.

American military strategy fails when it projects how the United States would orchestrate the war if we were directly involved. The US certainly had the military resources to fight a limited war in Korea and could have done so in Vietnam, but not the political capital to let it go on forever. Ukraine does not match the military material of Russia and relies on foreign aid which is at the mercy of political sentiment. Ukraine is painfully aware it must achieve victory quickly or risk absolute defeat. America has never learned that delay in addressing problems only lets them grow into bigger more difficult and expensive ones to solve. If Putin is not soundly defeated quickly no one will be able to prevent his plans to enslave the rest of Europe beyond the dreams of the Soviets .
