I’m not saying that all of the folks down south are smart and aware, however, many are. The issue I feel is that South Indians, by nature, are very innocent. If their dear politician tells them something, it’s likely that they will take it seriously. However, do note that the select few South Indian states supports the rest of the country in a huge way. South India has a lot of ports, well-skilled labor, a well-educated workforce, and usually have a better command over the English language than several North Indian states. Of course, it’s a complex issue the moment politics gets involved, which is what we are all witnessing right now. So, while you may feel bad about those who speak ill about Sanatan Dharma, also consider the contribution these states make towards the overall economy and progress of India.
