Traditionally, both the dravidian parties are stronger and due to EPS, DMK had gained some more grounds in TN. But, if the Unity Move succeeds in ADMK and they are in alliance with BJP, PMK, & others who were part of the BJP alliance in 2024 Lok Sabha poll, DMK may lose the 2026 assembly election very badly. People are already unhappy with DMK which is evident from the fact that they lost about 6% vote share to BJP.. In the meanwhile, people will watch keenly what is happening in BJP now. Great episode by Sreekumar ji as always.. Having said that, I must say there is a bit of misunderstanding about Odisha and its comparison with TN. The people of Odisha are usually very patriotic and they don’t view themselves any differently than the centre at Delhi, in spite of all the differences. Nabin never went against centre all these years.. Whereas, there is a massive undercurrent in TN about Tamil superiority and an inherent hatred for Delhi. That superiority theory applies to West Bengal and Punjab as well alongside other grievances. Therefore, BJP’s road to power in TN will be a long stretch, patience is the key..

In the first 2 weeks of Parliament post Lok Sabha elections ,it seemed like BJP israttled. But just see now. They have appointed young MPs to take on various members of opposition like Anurag Thakur for Rahul Gandhi , Sudhanshu Thrivedi against Akhilesh Yadav etc. So BJP is also gearing up strategies. Similarly I am sure they will devise strategies in TN. 2026 is not a done deal for DMK yet.
